I've seen a couple people on Facebook marketplace selling tonneau covers after trading in their 2016-2018 Tacoma for a 2021 Tacoma....

One guy said the rails are different, another said the bed is narrower...

Anyone know anything about this, or whether a bakflip tonneau cover off of a 2017 would fit a 2021.... or not?

Thats what i thought as well, until seeing multiple people selling covers saying they wouldnt work on the 2021....

Any first hand experience that they work?

I mean... EVERYTHING is not the same... The driver side cubby is gone for one thing.... But thats ALL i was aware of.

Do you have any first hand experience that a cover from a 2017 will work on a 2021?

I personally have owned a 2016 and a 2017 tacoma, and now a 2021 tacoma... I dont SEE anything that different other than the driver side cubby is gone... But after about 3 different marketplace adds saying the same thing it has me wondering. Before i meet up to buy a used cover id like to know for sure.

You would need the bed caps If it’s the oem cover

I guess technically that's the only difference. The bed itself has been the same since 2005 and the only difference was the upgraded bedsides and tailgate in 2016

If it's a bakflip it should work, if it's OEM probably not
