Please do not hijack this thread with the pros and cons of suspension types or gas vs electric. There are plenty of other threads

Many of us know that guy who just refuses to acknowledge that electric is here to stay. This is often the same guy that thinks driving an automatic makes him less of a man. You know the guy...

Maybe I'm wrong, but I've noticed another trend that feels very similar. Independent suspension vs solid axle. Now that chevrolet is switching their trucks over to IRS, are people going to continue to view the tacoma as less than a truck because of the IFS?

After looking at that EV F150 with IRS solid axle is going away.

Toyota is testing a 70 series EV with solid axles. If the axles make it to a production vehicle who knows.

Please send 70 series to America! I’d love to have one. :)

I am excited to see the upcoming Wrangler vs. Bronco comparisons to see how well the Bronco's IFS keeps up with the Jeep off road.

    Bunch of different mods
Cons of electric: (often, if not always overlooked elsewhere)

    - poor performance in heat/ cold
    - significant reduction of range/ performance when battery gets older
    - lack of power generating infrastructure (if everybody switched to electric, where is all that electricity going to come from?)
    - emissions or pollution elsewhere (not at the tailpipe, but the coal/ nuclear/ gas plant)
    - lack of infrastructure for recycling batteries
    - pollution at the end of battery life

Most of the above - out of sight - out of mind for the general public, until the power grid collapses

    Edit:
Conclusion - electric future is much further away than people like to admit

-Performance in heat or cold is nominal and effects range not overall performance.
-Battery does degrade over time but last over 200 thousand miles. But expensive to replace if not under warranty
-Infrastructure is always expanding. It will have major challenges but all cars being electric now won’t happen for another 50 years +
-Production emissions is not ideal but if you’re power is from nuclear there are no fossil fuel emissions. Thus the need to switch from coal and other fossil fuel electric generation. Long time for that but it will happen.
-batteries can be recycled but is expensive.

EVs are coming and need to be part of the driving future. They are here and won’t be going away and their technology is always evolving and very quickly. I was skeptical at first then started driving one and they are amazing. An ev truck is in my future but Evs aren’t for everyone.

... So your saying Toyota badged it correctly TRD?;)

My TRD works fine for me and what I do and after I get a lot of good use out of it folks that want a turn key off-roader pay pretty nice. (In comparison to some of the other brands. Eventually I will get a bigger rig as my needs change.
