    Awesome!

I’ll talk with the GF and see if we can work out the logistics to join. We did the TWAT backwards starting up north and going south back in late January but we didn’t finish the sections in IA because we ran out of time.

We live in the suburbs of Chicago so we’d need to get up in the lansing area Friday night to avoid a 4+ hour drive really early Saturday morning.

It was a winter wonderland in northern WI

The southern part along the river is definitely the best section of the entire thing

You are tuning the antenna to your vehicle, actually. But, after looking around, I found an article stating that you want 10-15 meters around your vehicle clear, so not as much space as I had thought.

    ^^^^what @Shellshock said. :)

I still have hope for the area north of Clam Lake. But, from what I've seen you are correct.

    Hopefully both.

@WiscoPat did you mention something about a Saturday morning convoy from Milwaukee area to Lansing, IA? I'd be up for that.

Bring her and take the bumpiest route. 10/10 would recommend.

The new one I just ordered looks like it's from the 70's or 80's. :)

I'm tentatively planning on camping at least a night and doing the run. Time will tell if I got hauled off to work or not. Looks like it should be a good time!

@Shellshock just a fair warning, if I can make it on the 10th I'll be coming with LOTS of questions about the habitat :)

I've been looking into them for a couple months now and seriously considering getting one in the next couple years. I have a diamondback HD and LOVE it, but I've come to realize that I need more cargo space for longer trips. Plus I overlooked how annoying it would be to mount a RTT and then not be able to open the panels of the diamondback.

A topper would effectively double the cargo space with the added bonus of allowing a RTT to be mounted up top without adversely effecting access to cargo. I've priced out an ARE HD and iKamper and it's in the same range as the habitat... so the habitat seems like a huge upgrade to a topper and RTT without spending more.

Again, lots of questions and input coming your way :anonymous:

I’ll hopefully be camping on the 10th (I get rona shot #2 on the 9th so hopefully no side effects) with my habitat

I’ve had my habitat for 2 years now (but it didnt get used in 2020 :() and I’ve been pretty happy with it. I actually went out to Prescott and toured their facility before i bought mine. A lot of people dont seem to realize that by the time you’ve bought a topper, rack, RTT, and awning you are paying nearly the same if not more than what the habitat costs. It’s just one big purchase instead of a bunch of smaller ones

    Awesome to hear!

It's looking like there is a pretty decent chance I'll be able to make it. Most likely I'd get up in the Lansing area on the 9th with my GF and camp into Saturday, but then we will have to head home at some point Saturday evening because of a prior commitment early Sunday morning.

I get my 2nd dose this Friday so I'll have just reached full effectiveness on the 9th, GF is already fully vaccinated.

Paid day off Friday April 2nd. I’m sure my wife will want something done or go somewhere but.... I’ll pencil in driveway beer Friday on 4/2/21

I have a few Tall boy Miller Lite cans already chilled to 37°!
    (Maybe a case or so)

My setup is straight out of the box with the rooftop magnetic antenna. I like it but the Trees on the pipeline kept knocking it off the roof. Upgrading to a 3-4ft Firestick antenna :notsure:

My neighbor found a tuner in his parents garage last fall. Definitely from the 70’s. He told me he didn’t know if it worked but we could try to tune my antenna when I get one. I still haven’t purchased a antenna upgrade. Maybe before the Pipeline trip.

I'll have my meter by this weekend. Let me know if you get an antenna and want to try tuning it.
