He was talking to his wealth management guy and brought up the ticker and his dude said it was a stupid thing to bet on (it's over, shorts covered, all that). He's got a hunch though lmao. Some of the boomers might be coming around.

I will never forget the phone call from my Dad in January asking if I knew anything about whatever was going on with GameStop. Of course he didn’t agree with my investment strategy or as he called it “throwing your money away” then, and he was equally unhappy this week when I told him I bought some shares for him and mom. I just told him to be happy when these handful of shares outvalue their entire Apple portfolio. He didn’t like that either.

 

I posted this back around page 200's..... Jeezus we are here a lot. 2 shares turned into 27 lol. Part of the reason I could give a shit what the price is if there's a smidgen of hope charging the hedgies what I want I'm in. My dad is actually pretty stoked on it, though he did poke fun at it a bit.

Best advice I gave my mom -she worked for Verizon all her life- take the stock options...So she bought $100 worth every paycheck...For like 20+ years...Plus they had pension buyout, dad's 401K that he managed like a champ around the 2000 and 2008 crashes...basically bought the shit out of the dips by maxing out on the recovery...
That worked out...well..nicely for them...
They're they last generation of retiring "millionaires" as a whole...The people in their 20's now in general will have too much debt to build wealth. That's the goal...

Oh and they are why I like SNR...60+ year olds with 7 figures are retiring all the time...
