Congrats on finishing up on the new tune! More power is always a good thing with these trucks.

Smoothing out the 3-4k kick in this engine was a PITA. Glad to see you guys got it done

This is awesome to see. The testers have had no shortage of positive feedback. I have 2 questions: what do you do if someone wants particular adjustments, say shift points, but comes back and requests a tweak to the same? Perhaps the shift points are just a hair off from their liking. Is that another charge? Do you work with them up to a certain number of revisions before another charge? I'm afraid of being that guy :anonymous:.

2: do you need a tester/flasher in New Mexico?

What's your polling frequency... or better yet, what's your screen update frequency with that many PIDs?

I struggle with OBDFusion and about 2.5 second updates.

@Tac0Tic0 and @Phich had a CEL from dump tubes that I got to stay off. It was a challenge.

I'm going to separate off information regarding my tune to reduce clutter here and make feedback easier to find.

    [Official] Valley Runner Tune Thread

The free tester versions of V1.8 are available on that thread (also on page 139 of this thread).

Still looking for recurring test vehicles for certain regions, testers should be willing to run the future renditions of tune for at least one full tank of gas before reverting to different files.

Okay, no tacoma cancel culture please. I've not run @PapaRee latest, but did the one before and it was very nice & smooth, power was good also. I'm now on @Mooseditty17 latest and am also liking it a lot too. Both these guys have been quick on replies & what adjustments within their tunes they could do for you, they have. Both tuners I feel are doing everything they can do to pull the most they can out of toyota's shortcomings thanks to what @OVTune has provided, I've been on this ride so long I can't remember where I got in, but it's always been an improvement over the crap toyota gave us. I said all that to say, you can't go wrong with any of these tuners , it all come down to your truck & style, throwing in the quirky personalities these trucks possess. Again, kudos to all working on this

I've gotten fantastic results from Valley Runner 2.0. The final tweaks have been made and Valley Runner 2.0.1 is officially available as of this morning.

Users still on 1.8 are seeing improved fuel economy returns along with the expected increase in power. All of my 2.0.1 test vehicles are reporting fuel economy numbers in the 18-19mpg range for mountaineous and hill ridden regions while those in more flat areas are seeing 20-21.5mpg. These averages are across all cab configurations and tire sizes. Larger numbers are obviously with access cab trucks running stock sized tires.

Thread for the tune is linked in my signature at the bottom of this post. Message me for any additional details

I wouldn’t necessarily say this thread is dead. Personally I branched off because it sucked seeing good info one day and the next it was buried by reviews or questions regarding specific tunes.

I’m on board for the BS and I’m also on board for using it to bounce ideas off each other and test out some crazy stuff.

Like so: Put your hot and warm idle drive RPM to 900-1000 and you’ve unlocked sport mode. Down side it’s permanent until you retune
