First order today was for $9 from Wendy’s; I was on 611 heading towards Horsham when I got the call, and I just assumed it was at the Wendy’s in Warrington so I headed back in that direction. I got there, only to realize that it was the Wendy’s in Horsham (also on 611 but in the opposite direction); So, I turn around and head back in the direction...

There’s a long line at the drive-they, but signage outside the place indicates that you’re allowed to go inside and pick up food for takeout; I tried all three doors and found them to be locked. I was already running late because I’d initially gone to the Warrington Wendy’s, and I wasn’t about to spend another ten minutes waiting in the drive-thru line, so I unassigned the order; I got an order from a McDonalds half a mile away seconds later...

Both of the Warrington Wendy’s and the McDonald’s I went to not only allow customers inside, but allow them to use the restrooms, so I don’t know what the deal is with the Wendy’s on 611 in Horsham!

    :annoyed:

Funny how they have all sorts of different rules, wonder if the same person or group owns the franchise for those stores.

Picked up an order from PetSmart today and saw this 4-month old female Boxer puppy there with her owner; Even at 32 years old, I cannot resist a puppy, so I went over to say hello...

One of the items I was picking up at PetSmart was a huge thing of kitty litter; First time I’ve ever hauled cat litter in the truck, and this shit was heavy!

And this is why I’m seriously going to stop doing pickups at places like Walmart, Michael’s, and PetSmart; No tip! I don’t blame the customer; They don’t know their stuff is being delivered by a DoorDash driver...

This order came from a Primo Hoagie somewhere in the far reaches of Montgomery County and went into the outskirts of Philly; No tip...

The other day, I got an order form Buffalo Wild Wings in Warrington; While driving there, another order from the same place came in...

Upon arriving, I realized that both orders were identical and from the same guy!

After communicating with the customer via text, I was told to just cancel one of the orders; I did this, and completion rate dropped to 87%!

    :annoyed:

On top of that, the guy only tipped me like a dollar for driving all the way from Warrington to Jamison! I should have charged both orders and feigned ignorance...

In other news, I still continue to get pickup requests from the same Warminster Taco Bell that I am “never allowed to come back to”...

Fuck that place; I’m never going back! :luvya:

Some crazy shit went down today while I was DoorDashing; I picked up some food at the Casa Toro Mexican restaurant in Plumstead Township and delivered it to a house in New Britain. There was this covered one-lane bridge, and when I got there, the traffic was not moving. I beeped the horn a couple times and nothing happened, then people started turning around. I was not familiar with this particular area so I didn't know an alternate route...

Once people started turning around, I got out of the truck and went to investigate; I was expecting to see the the bridge closed due to flooding (It had been raining hard all day and was still raining when this was going on). There was a gray Dodge Ram at an odd angle on the bridge, and another vehicle (which turned out to be a beige 2003-2005ish Honda Pilot) blocking the other side of the bridge. Both vehicles were front end to front end, and I was initially thinking it was an accident or that one of the drivers had a medical emergency...

Guess what the issue really was...?

The woman in the beige Honda Pilot believed that the woman in the gray Dodge had jumped the cue (there was a stop sign at either end of the bridge) and she actually had the right of way, so in her infinite wisdom she decided to position her Pilot so nobody could past on either side. She refused to back off and expected the woman in the Dodge Ram to back up so she could continue. The woman in the Dodge Ram did not feel comfortable reversing all the way back through the bridge and felt that the woman in the Pilot should just let her by...

Yes, I'm totally serious; Two grown women acting like total children because each thought they had the right of way. Actually, the woman in the Ram was nice; It was the woman in the Pilot who was being a total bitch. I told both women that I had a DoorDash to deliver, and the woman in the beige Pilot said she basically didn't care; The woman in the Dodge Ram said she was sorry about my DoorDash but that she didn't feel comfortable backing up. She also stated that she had called the police. I said a few profanities, threw up my hands, and went back to my truck. At this point, I started explaining to the other drivers what was happening, and they were just as pissed as me; I then called my customer, explained the situation, and asked if there was another way to his house. He knew exactly where this bridge was and we both laughed over the situation. About this time, a cop showed up, and I decided to go over the bridge.

By this time, everyone in line knew I had a DoorDash to deliver, so I got to jump the cue with no dispute. I drove onto the bridge, got out of the truck, and was like "Excuse me, officer; I've got a DoorDash to deliver." The cop told me to hold on a minute, and by this time had gotten the crazy bitch in the Honda Pilot to move. He said something to the woman in the gray Dodge Ram, and she continued. The bridge was now clear! I thanked the officer as I drove past him and got a cheerful "Not a problem" in return. I have no idea what ended up happening with the woman in the Pilot, or if she got a ticket; Considering that she didn't immediately leave, I think she might have...

Normally I'd blame it on PMS, but I think the woman in the Pilot was too old for that...
