    Are you replacing the diff seal? Where the cv enters the diff?

    Or the dust seal at the hub/rotor side?

    Loosen brake line brackets and/or remove caliper. Don't want to stretch any lines. Careful of the abs wire.

    Note the depth of the seal compared to the diff housing. I used a caliper.

    If you remove the seal nicely. Can use the old seal to drive in the new seal.

    This seal puller worked well:

    Diff seal. Part is called CV dust seal I think, but yeah at CV side, not hub side.

    Huh, old seal to drive in New seal. Yeah ill see where it us, manual says should be in 5.5 mm but there is no lip to seat it.

    When I replaced CV in past, I detached the tie rod to do so. Want to try the way without that, undoing bolts at lower BJ, in case I ever need to do a cv replacement on trail id rather not fuck with the tie rod. Advice? Video link? Basically to pull CV without detaching tie rod.

    I don't pull tie rod for Tacoma axle. I'm pulling a 2nd gen Tacoma CV tomorrow.

    - Remove axle nut
    - Remove 2 LBJ bolts
    - Loosen brake line brackets at knuckle and at top of frame rail. Not the brake lines, just the brackets.
    - Remove sway bar link from knuckle
    - Remove CV from knuckle side
    - Strap or bungee cord the knuckle pull it toward front of truck.
    - Pop CV from the diff.
    - Can also remove the CV from diff without separating from knuckle. More risk of damage that way.
