If it makes you feel any better, I just got done with the Traeger chat about my AWOL barrel. Copy/paste of the conversation:

Me - I purchased a Mesa 22 from Costco in early February. When I got it home to assemble it, the lid had a scratch through the powdercoating and the mount on the barrel that the leg goes into was bent.

I have since received a new lid but there has been no sign or update as to when the barrel will be delivered.

I'm closing in on 2 months that I haven't been able to use the smoker because of these issues.

*pause*

Dustin - I found your order, the frame is there its just waiting until we get more in stock before its shipped out. (I wanted to tee off on this comment but figured it wouldn't do me any good)

Me - Any idea when that should happen? I'm getting antsy to start using it!

Also, am I understanding correctly that I'm going to need to take the pellet hopper off of the one I have and put it on the new barrel or will the new barrel come with the pellet hopper attached?

*slightly longer pause*

Dustin - we are getting a shipment at the end of the month and we will email you once it ships. (But... but "the frame is there...")

it would be just the barrel, the hopper does not come attached.

Me - So because it was delivered damaged, I'll need to take this one apart to fix it? That's not ideal. I don't supposed the entire assembly could be replaced, could it?

*epically long pause*

Dustin - Once you get the part we can have someone come down a put it together for you.

Me - Again, not ideal but I'm sure I can figure it out. I've heard great things about Traeger but the lack of updates on a product defect is discouraging. I appreciate the information you've given me.

*slightly shorter pause*

Dustin - No problem, we will be sure to follow up with you once it ships.

Probably will end with the same result but I just messaged them on Facebook, too. I'm sure nothing will change, though.

Honestly, even if they tossed a few freebies at me (that idea came from the Traeger salesman that was conveniently at Costco today), it would help on the customer service side. Doing what equates to having me fix their mistake after a 2 month wait isn't awesome.

Hi crew , got to work this AM and all crisis are resolved. There were 2 flanges that required weld repair that I honestly thought would be waiting for me to machine but guy on nights came through!!

Yes sir they are, been needing a new set and these will match the set of 0-12" I bought a few years ago. Somehow the Mitutoyo's I have now got dropped or hit and one of the inside measuring things got bent. I don't know who did that, or when. I've had them for a long time though and they've been good ones.
