As long as your in 2wd you’ll be fine. But you have to have the cvs and front diff in. If you try to drive with the 4x4 hubs with no cvs they will bust.

Ill remember that for future use lol but I don’t have any of the front components in yet, not even hubs. Only thing that will spin is this thing. Just want to make sure the back end is solid before I worry about the rest

Front output won’t spin unless you have it in 4hi or 4lo

I wonder if this would happen if you have the ADD permanently engaged but in 2wd

I used a hole saw on a drill and it made it super easy. 3.25” iirc

I thought I knew what anxious was but putting on the bolts that connect the flex plate and torque converter was peak anxiety. I was so afraid I’d drop one inside and have to take off the transmission again to get them lol

Man it’s cool as shit to see a transfer case in my truck:D

    82F6A12F-9C43-493E-97DD-C46380FE2B1C.jpg

    Got a few issues though:

    1) how do you get to the top two bolts? I tried the extension method like the transmission, still can’t get it. I’m afraid I know what the answer is, don’t want to hear it lol

    2) the crossmember is blocking the front driveshaft. It may be how I design it, don’t mind redoing just wondering if someone else had a similar problem

    303D1D8F-730A-483C-B12F-8492349EFA69.jpg

    3) shifter linkage for trans is in the way of front driveshaft (see pic), any ideas?

Swivels and extensions are what i used, but you could also support the crossmember with a jack and then lower it down a little so you can access the top bolts more easily to torque them down.

Oooo I like that idea a lot. Thought I would have to drop the transmission again. That would work out well bc I have to modify the crossmember anyways

    You have to get

extension and tilt the whole drive train down. You have to take the crossmember out again. I’m not sure about crossmember mine was different. Looks like you’ve modified it with a plate you’ll have to smooth out. On the 4x4 version the whole crossmember is lower which is why it’s not clearing.

I was thinking, if you permanently engaged your ADD and broke a CV on the trail, how would you prevent the hubs from busting?

You'd have an issue either way. Even when ADD is disengaged, the CV's are still spinning as you drive.

Yep, just rip the cage out of the hub side of the cv and leave it in there and you’ll be able to get home

No zipper on the cover an the top has the diamond plate. It has crossbars on top that you can mount extra stuff too, like a roof rack well it is roof roof rack basically. They market it as a cross between a hardshell and a soft shell. I just haven’t put the crossbars on the top yet.
