He was showing baby sister how to load a muzzle loader when I left. Without powder or primers of course

 

You’d think I could read a print by now. Welded one side and remembered seeing a “no weld this joint” somewhere so I paused and checked. No boss, I didn’t weld it

 

This puzzle is almost ready for powdercoat.

 

I think I would have taken it back to Costco for an exchange

When Trumpf came and installed the machine (2006) they brought a piece of 1” thick pure laser quality steel with them and burned it nicely. That must have been some high quality German steel, because we tend to max out at 1/2” thick steel and stainless steel.
But that’s fine with us, as a lot of our post processing equipment wouldn’t be able to handle much thicker. (Press brakes, etc)

 

And no, it does not go all the way through, and you end up with a molten mess piled up on top of the sheet!

 

I don't know anything about lasers, I have a good friend who works in another machine shop and he's told me theirs will cut 3/4" steel as long as all the mirrors are clean, etc.

 

Cool I just learnt something today.

 

It wasn't the last one they had but it was the last day that the Traeger guys were at Costco so an exchange wasn't possible.

I stuck it back in the folder (middle) cause I have one more piece to make but we’re waiting on what mounts to it for the hole locations. The rest is this is just stuff I have to do, mill work or welding. We are blessed to be covered up with work

I don't know if any of you are familiar with them but at my previous job we did the electrical plans for Scheels All Sports. The last set I worked on had 99 30"x42" sheets just for the electrical plans.

 

Shoot, I pay for my powder work and you still get yours turned quicker!
