    Did you use your horn?

Would of layed on the horn until the stop sign at the main road, if I thought a crash was imminent.

    Affirmative on the horn.

I am driving down the street.

I see the truck on the left as I am moving. A few seconds later I defensively engage the brakes and use the horn as I determine truck would not yield; at the same time said truck brakes suddenly and comes to a stop. I then drive on.

I suspect driver of said truck did not clear for incoming traffic/video obviously shows truck did not come to a full stop.

    This is of no matter.

Other driver stopped. You drove on. No collision.

A quick flash of high beams and a beep of the horn would be sufficient warning devices. Then be prepared to stop, if the other driver insisted on going through.

Remember, most accidents happen within a few miles of home. Simply because drivers are familiar with the area and become complacent.

Fair enough. There is the matter of a stop sign on that corner which obviously operator of said vehicle did not come to a full stop to. If said driver of vehicle does it routinely then it matters in the greater scheme of things especially in our state with one of the highest insurance rates in the country.

    Something to consider.

    The other driver did stop.

YOU need to be aware of that driver's habit of rolling the Stop. You will likely encounter that situation again at the same corner. I'm reasonably sure there are other driver's in the area who roll the same Stop.

Remember. You can only control your actions. You cannot control other people's actions.

    Drive Safe, Be Aware.

Are the streets private property? or are they owned by the local government?

I wonder what the law is regarding a STOP sign on private property.

Probably distracted by the strobe lights on the highway.

    I was thinking the same.

The Tacoma could have also been in a bind spot for the other driver.

Not a private area AFAIK- the parish/county maintains the street lights
