If you want to look more through calculated load % and engine rpms on a chart that would be good.

It helps with the understanding of how the truck reacts to increased demand when it holds 5th and 6th

I also have a 2018 and I'd love to get your tune when available. I have a pre-vftuner kit and have no desire to make my own tunes. Is there a flash tool available for everyone yet?

Yep that is good for it.

I personally stack mph and current transmission gear with that graph. This way you can see the load percent climb as the truck reaches an incline. It'll hit a threshold of load before downshifting to maintain the mph. Once the load percent drops below another acceptable value, the truck will reduce throttle and upshift. Its a nice visualization of the inner workings of cruise control logic.

Unfortunately we do not have the ability to edit the background logic beyond shift points at this time.

Example, when the truck is in 3rd still at 27mph under light throttle. You're still pulling 20+ mpg flat and 18+ on an incline. It is all in the afr, timing, torque models, and atkinson comps.

I don't know if Mat over at VF Tune is making another flash tool to use the vfc files or if it is only included in the VF Tuner software. If I was still in OKC I would gladly flash your truck if it wasn't avaiable.

Once 2018 is developed in the coming week or so I will let you know. We'd love you have you and I'm sure those flat, pot hole ridden interstates in OKC would do great with the mpg.

Yukon was a fun place to live, although Garth Brooks is a pain to drive down after work...

I will happily report back once I test it out. These roads are REALLY bad. I'm actually a good test case for the faster warmup because my commute is about a mile, but I drive my kids around quite a bit getting them to nap and stuff like that so I will have all kinds of scenarios. I'm also bone stock drivetrain wise.

Matt has said he's making a vft tool for people like me that don't want the full vftuner, but there's no timeframe. Kinda getting frustrated with getting left out in the cold on all these promises he's made though, so I'm not holding my breath. I get that he's a busy man, but I feel like he should have finished a lot of things before moving on to vftuner. (end rant)

The most recent update of vf tuner was great to me. I didn't have any flashing issues like others were reporting, hence why my tune is the only one with a vfc format. Plus the additional maps help out tons.

I hope that since the issues are fixed he is able to get the flash tool ready for you guys as well. There are plenty of people who want OV 2.0 or other tunes who just don't want to pay $200 for a software they wont use. The other alternative is finding someone local to flash your truck but they tend to charge $250+

Yeah I'll just buy the software at that point ha! I don't mean to just bash on Matt either. It's all good! I'm glad I have the cable and can run techstream and install tsbs myself and all kinds of stuff. I've definitely gotten value out of everything.

    *** Update ***

The credits have been processed to my VF Tuner much earlier than expected.

Conversion to the 2019 AT ECU is starting today. Next is the 2018 AT. Followed by 2020 AT and MT. 2021 is last.

Curious how this $30 tune compares to the dozens of free tunes already out there.

I break down some of the changes and advantages to the paid version of Valley Runner compared to the free one in the first post.

Valley Runner 1.8 is free and the files are listed on the first post. Anyone is able to test this version out for themselves and see what the basics of this tune are about.

If they want to upgrade for a more advance version, 2.0 and its updates, then its a simple fee payment. They'll receive any updates that happen until version 3.0 is released. Then 3.0 will be available at a discount for them.

As far as logging goes I'm pretty much done with all the testing and getting the tune going.

The only focus of logs from here out is to expand upon the mpg savings and truck's ability to hold the gears in hills.

I'll work on a gear lock version in the future but right now the focus is on ECU expansion.
