Why do truck caps range in price so much? Some are free some are 500 bucks. As long as it gets the job done whats the difference

 

Condition and options as well as how badly the owner wants to get rid of it

Condition, also they get much cheaper as the trucks they fit get older.

1st Gen Caps : free-$500
2nd Gen Caps : $400-1000
3rd Gen Caps: $900-1500

 

Anyone interested in wheels and tires? 4 255/85-16 KM3s less than 10k miles on them. Like new condition. They are mounted on 16x8 0 offset level 8 MK6 wheels. 5th matching wheel has a 255/85-16 KM2 with 0 miles on it. 4 wheels have rock rash. $1200 for all 5 wheels and tires and lug nuts.

 

2nd gen caps go for free too lol.ive picked up 2.

That being said, if anyone has a lead on a 1st gen long bed cap in CT or the boston area, a coworker is looking for one

Unfortunately, it actually isn't a good deal. If you look around, you can get a full suspension that a person took off, front, rear, leafs and all, for around $300ish. Tough thing is, is that they are only worth how much a person is willing to pay for them. The only ones looking are people the modified and then want to go back to stock (waiting for a deal) or people with 180,000+ miles on their truck that was stock to begin with and they don't know what is going to need to get fixed next after the replace the suspension (people like tis are looking for a steal of a good deal as well.) When I upgraded my stock suspension to 6112's, I couldn't give my stock suspension away.

I had the same thought when we had kid #3. Then I remembered that they all sit in the back and MY seat still has plenty of room. That and all the memories of 4 of us crammed into the back of a 1988 access cab S-10 growing up.
