I should have checked my schedule before I sent that, I can't make it Saturday I thought I could. I do not mean to be a flake I usually don't offer to do something I can't follow through with. I have a friend in Cedar Park I am waiting to hear from to see if he can get it out of your way for me but in the mean time if someone wants it & can get it right away by all means let them have it. I will PM you when I have a definite answer.
Thanks for the offer either way.
I was hoping to come down & check out your RSI while I was there I am on the fence.

This is cool of you to offer, with next weekend being Easter I do not know when I would be able to get down there.
My brother works for a Geotech inspection company here in DFW btw.

    Midsize for the Tacoma.

If you have a hard topper, no leaks. I had a hard shell on my Gen One and it worked great. On this softshell, I used a few 1x2s lashed together to make a frame and it leaked like a sieve. The glass hatch on the hard shell is what keeps the top part waterproof. The blue part is definitely waterproof. After this leaked on me (the weekend in the picture), I used spray waterproofer all over the back half of the white part. I have not yet tested it.

I would definitely keep it if I had a hard shell. It's easy to put up. No poles and only the 4 bungee cords to hold it on.

I’m new to TW but so far the community has been great and helping each other out is what keeps that going.

What company does he work for? And does he own a taco? Lol

Yes, Doesn't matter how long the bed is since this only covers the opening. It may change where you attach the bungee, but they're bungees...

Hmmm.. I forgot, but I'm going to be installing a prinsu cab rack soon. Do you figure it'll fit?

Cab rack or CAP rack? If you're putting a rack on your topper, this should fit over it, especially a Prinsu, but it will create an opening where more insects can get in and may compromise the water tightness of the top.

Cab rack, you should not have any problem.

would this, in your experience, help shield you from the elements if you were working out of the back of your truck? I would be standing at the tailgate using it as a work platform/table . I see myself applying this type of tent system in order to work and take notes while it’s raining outside. I am in the field a lot and rainy days can really be a pain in my ass. Also, how does it hold up to wind?

It's more to protect you while you are inside the bed of the truck. It doesn't have much overhang. I've used this tent in conjunction with an awning to get quite a bit of protection in the rear of the truck (see picture of before I had the tent).

I think it holds up to wind pretty well, just be careful how you have it attached. If you have the hard shell topper, it snugs up against the tailgate and the open rear window of the topper. The only part you may have a problem with in high winds is the top flap towards the cab.

*edit* I see you changed wind to rain. It holds up to rain just fine if you have a hard shell topper.IMG_20170924_083738.jpg

Haha yeah I screwed up the editing part. Long day. I see wind being an issue. My coworker has a hitch mount that he converted into a umbrella post, it’s really impressive. I’ll probably just find a welder and have him fab something similar together, although modified for a topper.
