Like your setup! Are those the "dark gray" Clazzio seats? I've been toying with those myself.

Truck looks good. Did you have them paint over the textured front bumper cover?

I prepped and painted the front bumper myself. I just primered over the textured bumper.

Nice to see an SR thread, newbie here
will post all my next mods here as they come

Mods that came with it and things that I bought so far:
    3" Procomp lift kit K5081B
    Procomp AT Sport 285/70/r17
    Method Racing MR305 17x8.5
    nFab EPYX step bars
    Extang Encore tonneau cover
    Toyota Tacoma SB mat
    Weathertec wind deflectors
    Tint all around (4in windshield)

Cali Raised bed stiffeners are on the way and my Viper remote keyless entry + start are scheduled!

I think I'm going to have to save up for the front and rear bumpers and Prinsu cab rack for the Black Friday sales. Not decided yet if I should go with Lil B's or C4 fab with the bumpers.

Another thing, even with the wheels, my truck hasn't been regeared yet. Drives alright and has the same problems that everyone has with their automatic (the feel of hunting for gears on faster speeds). Getting avg 14-18mpg depending on where I drive it to and how long I go.

This was when I got him home off the lot

Hey SR squad. I'm going to be buying a Tacoma next month, and I've got some questions for you all.

I'm currently deciding between a 4x4 double-cab SR, SR5 or Off-Road. I'm not interested in any packages/options, so the cheapest SR5s and Off-Roads I've found actually seem to be in the same price range (~36-37k). Most of the SRs I've found are around 32/33k.

I'm trying to spend as little as possible, without regretting not spending more. I also hope to have this truck for 15 years.

So my questions are mostly about the things I'd give up by going with the SR.

    1. Is the more basic seat adjustability (4-way vs 10-way) fine for someone who's 6'2"?
    2. Does the urethane steering wheel feel cheap?
    3. How difficult would you say it is to install fogs lights for someone who's decently handy? (? out of 10)
    4. For those of you who have installed OEM fender flares, is the fit good, or do you worry about them damaging the paint over time? (from catching dirt / gunk along the seam and getting under the flares etc.)

Any answers / insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you really want to save, go Utility Package SR ACLB. You won't miss the back seats. In fact, rear seat delete might give you the same space as back seats in a double cab. Plus you get the long bed and a cool beard. It still comes with smart cruise control and air conditioning, a radio and power windows.

    1. I've never felt uncomfortable in the seat at 6'. Most complaints come from shorter guys.

    2. Nope

    3. I don't know, but it doesn't seem difficult with TW to help you out.

    4. I added Rekgen mud flaps. No flares.

    $27K for a new '19 4x4 in late' 19.

    1. I'm fairly short 5'0 and don't have complaints with my seat. I can still see traffic although I have more blind spots because of the side mirrors.

    2. Steering wheel is just like any other vehicle's. If you really want to change it up, you could always get some custom covers.

    3. If you can follow instructions, you'll be able to do it.

    4. Mine is stock.

The only complaint I have with mine so far is some tech stuff that I could easily buy aftermarket parts for. I'm getting the Viper system installed on my truck soon and I'm going to buy something like the idata Maestro when my Tacoma is rigged up. It really depends on what you are doing with your Tacoma. If you're just planning on taking it A and B, you could never go wrong with the SR. If you're planning to go major off-roading, everyone buys lots of techs and you can always upgrade your rig just like how the other TRD owners do the same. It's just for us we have to buy a little bit more like the lockers... if anything.
