Mine is a B2400HSD with loader, 60” box blade and 60” belly mower. Soon as I shake this virus I’ll be looking for a landplane/grader

sometimes taking down trees means digging a hole.....

That’s what it took to push it over, pretty sure when the lot was graded originally that tree was taller....was a lot of it in the ground. Of course they did a really crappy job of grading the rear of the lot, which is what led to the whole tractor thing anyway....

I looked for a planner before I built my box blade as I have about a mile of drive/trails to maintain and couldn't decide if a box blade or planner would be better. I built the box, but still wonder if planner would be better lol.

I really want to find a flail mower, but they are pricey. I might get rowdy and try building my own though.

The box blade was fine grading the dirt and shaping, but moving gravel it sucks. Not consistent and trying to get the angle right to not bring everything as a pain.

Landplanes are hard to find around here unless you buy new. Nobody sells them once they buy them. They do an awesome job though.

My box seems to do well on gravel, the problem I have is it works too well moving dirt. It doesn't take much to slow my little tractor down and I wonder if a planner by it's nature taking smaller bites would be quicker overall.

Thanks! :) I figured at 37yrs old, it's now or never. Started a new job back in October 2019 that allowed me to feel financially stable enough to consider it. This, of course, is after both me and my wife quit our decent paying jobs to go on a 12,500 mile roadtrip around the country lol. Took a bit to get back on our feet. Funny thing about bills is that they don't stop when you're out of work.

    Haha, thanks!

How do you like that geo-grid stuff? I'm looking for a mostly inexpensive alternative to making a patio off the back of my house. Eventually it'll be bluestone or something of the sort, but as previously mentioned with a kid on the way I think for now gravel will do. I just need to keep it in one spot, build up an edge like you did. How's it been working out for you?

I had an old guy tell me once that if everyone waited until they were ready to have kids, no one would ever have any. Trial by combat is the way to go. Congrats.

So, I’m going to jump in here with my mower fleet that’s ready for another season. Spent the day changing fluids, filters, spark plugs, and sharpening blades.

Thank you sir. Everything lives inside when they’re not working. :D

The Cadet is an ‘03 and the Deere is a ‘19. The Toro push mowers are 7 and 4 years old.

Wow, nice! The Cadet looks almost new as the Deere.

I have a 06 Cadet zero turn, it lives inside but doesn't look new even from a distance. I mow 6 lawns miles apart so it has thousands of miles on the trailer with a good percentage being on the dirt roads. It has been a tough little unit.

Spring '17 I bought a Hustler Raptor Limited, first brand new mower I've ever had. Always bought used mowers before. My mowing time went from 2 hours to ~45 minutes. Zero turn! :muscleflexing:

Plus, I got my wife to try it after I outlined around all the obstacles. She likes it, she mows now and does a good job of it.

I was busy trying to talk myself into buying a Wright Stander, no I'm not a commercial cutter and yes it is a $9000 mower...
Got distracted and bought the Tacoma instead. :burnrubber: I only use the truck in nice weather so I guess the usage is about the same.
