With the Hypertech module it actually will correct the odometer and speedometer, as you program in the tire size and the module is then plugged into the back of the cluster.

Actually the odometer/speedo will be going slower ... 100km per hour on speedo vs 108 kmph in real life.

Larger diameter = more distance travelled per revolution.
Speedo/Odo is based on calculating off of revolutions.

Ran 255/85/16 up till last week - no issues with ABS on wet surfaces either (drifting snow covered corners)
    I calculated +2 km/h at 50km/h
    And
+4km/h at 100 (i round up 5 at that point)
dont follow the speedo, but i have google maps up for the GPS speed indicator for something a little more "exact".

i'm just waiting for good weather before i start cutting rope. how much do you have on your spool? 40 feet? and the remainder was made into extensions?

I remember a snorkel from the mother land.

One can only hope it goes better than that for you on the cheaper route.

Someone also commented on the high prices in the YouTube comments. Matt's response: "We will try to lower the price for sure but any line under $200, even just a plain line with no ends is made in china by little 5 year old hands."

So the key to making a cheaper one is to DIY it with the winch rope you have, or get it made in China, but then it can't be called "Freedom" Rope anymore

Isn't that the same as using a soft shackle with flatlink? If I wrap the winch line around the tree and add the soft shackle around the line and looped into the flatlink

from the looks of things, the concept behind this is that it reduces the number of "links" or "connections" between the winch line and the recovery point.
so without the need of a; winch hook, bow shackle or soft shackle, tree saver (still use one regardless), and whatever else you might need (assuming straight pull) and incorporating a soft-shakle loop at the end of the winch line, it reduces the number of potential of failure points to just the strength of the winch line itself.

TLDR: Just a reduction in failure points

ok because of this video and the fact that i have a 100' virgin synth line on hand...

i kind of want to create this line end myself now o_O just the soft shackle end would be good enough for me. I can't really see any downsides other than the lack of abrasive protection when it's spooled and put away...

All this winch line talk is armchair exercise for me. I drilled two holes in my license plate to cover the winch fairlead opening on my bumper :notsure:
