I'm serious when I say Maura needs to stop trying to protect me from myself. I'm plenty smart enough to do it on my own! My feeling at work though is, if my IT wants to block something, so be it, their office, their rules, I'm an employee at will.

No filter is perfect (this firewall was blocking mcla.edu when I first put it in because it had it miscategorized--I heard about that quick!), but there have been a couple situations where someone has said "hey, why is this blocked?" and it's a whitehouse.com vs .gov type of situation. Or, they clicked on a link in their personal email that they thought was a legitimate banking thing. It was really a phishing attempt to try to get their bank username/password on a separate site and the filter had it flagged as phishing.

I remember those old iMac G3s. People sometimes convert them to fish tanks now. Staff have gotten PCs for better than 20 years here. We do have iPads for special education, some music programs, places where they're the best tool. They make me happy that Apple devices are in the minority for what I have to manage. Apple tends to come up with ideas for personal use and how they impact institutions isn't really a thought--and their enterprise targeted tools are usually half baked and temperamental.

Mark it sold, love it when a plan comes together

@Noelie84 Thank you, but it would appear your services will not be required after all, but I I very much appreciate the offer to help out!

Oooh, not a beer guy but when I do, I'm usually looking for a dark porter. That sounds good.

Have fun everyone, I'm out for the weekend.

I have to wonder too if it's that this way the state still gets their sales tax..hmmm

How the hell could you do that after you escaped? Haha

Very well said, I recall the mid 90s when my ex's mom's boyfriend found the whitehouse site

Capt. Private Stock. I got the fancy silicone molds for ice cubes so I can make 2" spheres or 2" cubes

State gets their sales tax through Amazon now, it's collected at checkout. It's just a control thing, it really is.

I had a glass of that last weekend. I've got a silicone mold that does 6 2" square cubes at a time. Lotta sugar in that stuff, though. Very sweet

Sooo follow up from my buddy that stopped by the other night. Was just called by investigators from child services. I guess was pulled over shortly after somewhere else and there were kids.

felt bad making something out of nothing before, but not so bad anymore. I’ve had people close to me w kids do this shit and they need to be stopped and tried to get help ASAP, delaying doesn’t help anyone.

That’s what I have but it was a kit and I have one that makes 6 - 2” spheres also.

What do you guys use for batteries up here? I was going to replace the stocker with a deka/duracell wet cell but all the batteriesplus’ in Albany seem to have closed up shop and I can’t find anyone local who sells east penn batteries.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
I have a Toyota replacement battery but it's almost due to get changed out again. I think I'm going to get an Interstate or a Diehard Gold next time seeing how they don't sell Diehard ACM in a 27f.
