And they expect you to as well?? That sounds like a violation of your rights as an employee tbh, you should be entitled to breaks on your shift

It's less Tacoma and more mod
The first option provided you have lasting interest in the type of work. You'd need that to function as a decent manager and owner in such a position

That's the tough spot, I enjoy both options alot. But they're both very different.. Option A is harder/dirtier manual labor (fabricating and servicing concrete cutting equipment) Option B is way easier and cleaner but still manual labor currently (building electrical control panels) Option B has the possible advancement in getting to design the panels in the future, and that would bring more money, but I don't know how viable a choice that will be due to the fact I would have to quit and get a job as an apprentice working under a certified engineer somewhere else, before I could do it here

I like building stuff and fixing used stuff but I'm worried about getting burnt out since essentially we only offer 5 pieces of equipment (more if you include the various Option packages for each style of equipment)

Getting burned out sucks. Safe to say I'm burned out at my current job but the pay is good enough to keep me around for awhile longer at least, until we are able to move.

But in the long run you don't want to be stuck at a job you're slowly growing to despise. My problem here is that I just don't feel challenged anymore. It's all so routine and redundant, the thought of it lasting another 5+ years makes me depressed. But, not having to worry about money (at least not in a dire way) has it's own benefits. IDK, I have some thinking to do on my own situation as well lol.

all in all we're just another brick in the wall. Unless you're Jeff Bezos

Being such a small company I'd have many hats to wear to try and curb that burnedoutedness, I'd start back just with building and fixing machinery but over time I'd get put in charge of inventory management (which I used to do for them when they were owned by corporate) as well as taking on solidworks drafting responsibilities to help the boss (main guy inheriting the business)

The original owner (who's now 73 and finally thinking about retiring) started the company with pencil drawings on the back of red lobster napkins lol so there's alot of room for company growth
