Sub install. what am i missing?

My brother decided he wanted a sub in his truck for Christmas (just got a 98 ext. cab) and since I put the headunit and speakers in my truck I told him I would order everything and install it for him. Well I'm sitting in the floor with everything and I think I'm missing a few little things.
First off I bought a headunit, a harness to plug it into the factory wiring, a 12" sub, an amp, amp install kit, and a box.
I know I can install the headunit and wire the amp to the battery b/c I've done that before. This whole sub box has got me a little stumped. I've got the box, the sub, a gasket, and wire. I don't have screws or anything that will connect to the terminals on the side of the box. Can somebody explain to me how the terminals in the little cup thing work? I don't have a soldering iron and really don't want to try to do that so if theres a way around that I would prefer to go that route. And it seems kind of stupid to ask but what kind of screws should i use?

 

Got any pics of the "cup". Most have a red and black type knob that you unscrew and it exposes a hole to put the end of the wire in after removing the insulation, there are other types that you pull on to expose the whole, it all depends on what type you have.

 

do you have pics of the terminals inside and out i can possibly help you out with that problem.. I have installed a couple systems in various cars of mine...

 

I don't have a pic but it sounds like the 1st one you said. its got 2 gold pieces that i thought were plugins (seems kinda dumb now) they unscrew and theres a hole in a center piece. I know for the inside there are some slide on connector things but is there a piece i need to buy for the outside part or can the wire just be slid through the hole and tightened down

 

Just slide the wire after removing the insulation into the holes and tighten down and your good to go. Remember when installing wiring to mind polarity becuase it does effect performance even though most people dont pay attention to it. positive to positive and neg. to neg.
