Thank you. Appreciate the tip. This is funny cause I was thinking of looking into this as well, but gonna run with what I brung for now and see how it goes.... but I do think this would be more my preference vs lights bars and such. plus, I’m tapped out after the lift... hahaha!

I was hoping to get a good action photo today but alas, hard to do the one parent two kids + my dad who is mostly a dependent and get good documentation at the same time. I was really hoping for a legit dump tomorrow but looks like the light dusting last night is all we get of fresh. Nice and warm up here this afternoon. Lots of walking/driving though and not exactly fun driving, just congested parking and slow road driving.

Man, I need to fix my aim because your throw is MUCH better than mine. Now that it's not 10 degrees out all the time I'll find a level spot and use your guide to set them up because that looks SO much better to me. Granted, if I truly need ALL THE LIGHT, I throw my 30" KC bar on, but then I'm just "that guy".

How are the Nokians treating you?

Shout out to @crashnburn80 for helping me out with the lights, the man has put in the work for the Tacoma community. Just stuck the H9s into my tacoma. Had to do a little filing to the metal tabs but oh boy do they make a difference!

Follow up by reading posts #2 and #3. The Philips H9 swap covered in post #2 is the highest performing recommended option for the halogen 3rd Gen light assemblies. If you want slightly whiter light, go with the Hella H9 Performance 2.0s, which are a little lower in output than the Philips bulbs. LEDs do not perform as well as halogens in a halogen assembly and HIDs produce excessive uplight due to the halogen uplight allowance causing excessive glare, not to mention bulb bounce issues and the complexity of ballasts. If interested in HID a retrofit with a proper HID projector using a legitimate HID capsule such as D2S to run quality made capsules instead of cheap china rebased HID products like H11 or H1 HIDs would be in order. If wanting higher output than the H9s provide, the best performing recommended option is the OEM LED assembly swap.

In urban environments with lots of light it may not be very noticeable as the light color is the same. But get out on some dark backroads and the improvement should be very apparent.

Go to Death Valley or the MNP. Brightest thing out there are the stars and the moon.

@crashnburn80 thank you for all the recommendations and advice you have given to the members here. I also took a look at your H4 thread and purchased your recommendation for the Philips H4 Racing Vision for my son's 2007 Yaris. I noticed an immediate improvement in the quality of his headlights in making his ride safer. I have spares of the H9 trimmed and ready to go in case my first batch goes out. Thank you for all the research and time invested to make this possible.
