Took my truck offroading and when it got dark I switched my lights on and my dash lights didn't come on. Checked all the fuses and shut but all was well. Any advise short of tracing wires?

if its all the lights you probably have turned the dimming knob down. if not, search for a thread on how to remove your stereo, pretty simple but some need the photo/direction assistance. if will also show how to remove your dash across from the stereo trim to the gauge cluster. i believe there are 4 illuminating bulbs, which i found could only be had from toyota for about 8 dollars each. i had one bulb go out in my tach and had to tare the whole dash apart to change. not too bad, but will take some time and patience. id bet, like others have said, its the illumination knob just turned down.

That was my first thought but the knob didn't do anything and all my fuses are good. I doubt all the bulbs would go out at the exact same time. It's all the dash and the lights behind the heater and A/C. And I put a new stereo in once I bought the truck about a year ago. Lookin like I gotta trace wires... Maybe one popped loose somewhere or something.
