Thank you. I’ve been in Cali for 40+ yrs and wife is originally from Jersey. We’re going back to her home state. We’re both are tired of the way California is heading.

Refer to next post, it's called a resonator box. Not sure why it's there honestly, unless to suppress some noise?

Well I can't swear anything to Jersey. But saying that, I'm sure those Jersey winters are NOT gonna be pleasant compared to those in Cali.

Guess you and the Mrs. are going against the grain of "no one retires and moves up north."

(And this from a man from Dixie lol)

Having grown up and lived in California for almost 40 years (the Bay Area too), I can’t imagine New Jersey winters being “more pleasant” than the Bay Area. I remember thinking 50 degrees was “cold”.

All these dumb lil things are about emissions/ fuel economy. We would def get a better performance out of our vehicle if some of these things like this were off from the factory.

Today's project was to install the ScreenProTech Pillar Protectors. Some people prefer to pull the black vinyl from their trucks. I like the protection they provide for the area where you often grab the doors to shut them. Like the screen and odometer protection kits, these use a self-healing vinyl to protect the covered area. I've been pleased with the screen kit so I thought I'd give this kit a try.

I was surprised when I originally received them to see that the protectors were black - the originals I had seen and those in the install video are clear. Not sure why they changed them to black - it actually seemed to make alignment a little tougher because you couldn't see the edges as you could have with a clear strip.

It took me about an hour per side. To get all (at least almost all) of the air bubbles out, you need to work slowly. I found that it was impossible to get them all - always seemed to miss a few small ones. I have gone back and got a few more close to the edges since taking the pictures. The material is supposed to breath so the small bubbles should work their way out in a week or so. It was also difficult to get the lower rear corners of the rear door pillar to adhere. I had to work both of those several times and go back to them occasionally. I'll check them in an hour to see how the look.

All in all, I'm pleased with the kit. It covers well - the real test will be to see how well they hold up and protect the pillars.

Want to understand this a little better. So these go over the black vinyl that is already there? It is for better protection against scratches, wear, tear?

PS - Love the AG and the Yoda killroy. I have an AR Offroad on order.
