The coil bucket gussets are a stand alone product that should work for stock arms. The description does not say that the JD arms are required. The same goes for TC gussets..they work with the stock arms or their arms. So that has me thinking that the width should be the same as if you are using stock arms or JD arms or TC products......is my thinking wrong here?

No, that’s kind of where I was at. I would think that the bushing width should be very close between brands. I just know that I’d be pissed if I used the gussets I have on hand to find out they won’t work with another kit later on.

The widths on all JD stuff is the same a OE and any other aftermarket arms. I’ve installed JD arms with other companies DS gussets no problem

I can go measure my JDF bushings but I'm pretty confident they're the same width as stock UCAs

    thank you. :hattip:

Now is there a design benefit between yours and any other manufacturer’s, while we’re on the subject?

Just make sure you put the correct spacers for the bushing on before welding. Since I missed one I have to machine down (grind) my heim uppers I have now.

I partial to the design but also the upper arm bolts come ovalized to help fit all the different bent and twisted frames that are out there

I just pulled the TC ones out of the box and they didn't line up super well for me so I gave up pretty quick. Just wanted to get yours anyway for no real reason other than to support you guys and have it all made by the same dudes. I just remember that they didn't really want to line up how I thought it should go so I put them back in the box.

    Should I have tried harder???

What do you mean by not line up? I’ve installed a set of TC on someone else’s truck once and there were pretty bad gaps to fill. And that was being paired with a TC LT kit so you’d think it would all play nice together.

Yeah it was a while ago, but I remember having it all bolted up and it was around 1/4"+ gap between the gusset and the coil bucket all around. Maybe it wasn't the arms being different sizes, but the TC gusset just not being very good.

That’s about the gap I had, maybe closer to 3/16”. I think it’s just poor fitment on their part.

You are always forgetting that they give you influencer IG points, overlanding and mall cred....all much more important than functionality.

That's all I'm looking for. My Instalander points showed up in the mail the other day. Just waiting for the JD Sua kit now for my TW build thread update post to hit big

I love the fitment of my JD Fab upper arm gussets, can’t speak for others. Only had to take off probably 1/16th of an inch in various places. Very easy to weld up.

We’re getting there. I bolted in the passenger side arms, spindles, and axles today. Tomorrow I’ll be throwing the slide rack, steering rack, and driver side together. Not sure if I’ll get to the brakes yet.

here’s a quick picture with the fender tossed on. These are 315s on 16in wheels,3.5 BS.

I’ve done quite a few JD UCA gussets and I’ve never once had to do any grinding to make them fit and never had any gaps more than 1/16”

The two tc ones I’ve done for people were pretty bad fitment. My dirt king ones were good. And based on your spindle gussets I’d bet yours are good as well. Honestly if someone came to me with a tc spindle gusset kit I’d probably tell them to sell them and get yours for me to do for them. Just a superior design with a perfect fitment
