Pretty sure it's millennial humor. Be glad you didn't understand it.

Yo whats up guys I got a quick question for y’all up north. I’m planning a short trip up to lake city, silverton, and probably ouray next month IF I wanted to go do a little bit of off-roading (‘not too hardcore considering I’m 2wd) would it be safe by than to hit imogene pass or loop?

Red Mountain Pass has 72" of snowpack right now. I would bet that you won't be driving through off road in a month. Especially not with 2WD.

The year after my wife and I moved to CO, one day in late May it was mid 90s in Denver so we decided to escape the heat and take a day trip to Mt Evans. After an hour of driving we got off I-70 and started heading up the road toward Mt Evans. There was still snow on the ground but the road was plowed. Until 15 minutes later we encountered a 10 ft wall of snow across the road where the plows had stopped plowing. Now we know that the Rocky Mountains don't fully open up from snow until July.

Not quite an invention more of tying off the end of the rope into a softshackle of sorts. If I drew it out I'm sure I could use the fid and bury the correct order but not worth the hassle imho at the moment. Maybe next time I swap a new synthetic line on the drum I could look into it a bit more.....

Not a bad idea, but I wouldn't wrap the line around a tree or put it through a sharp edged recovery point like he does. Much cheaper and easier to replace a tree strap or shackle.

Wouldn't want to rent another vehicle if the trails I want to hit are doable in a 2wd lol plus I'd rather brake something on my truck rather than taking a risk on braking someone else's vehicle! Lol

I never said I wasn't going prepared haha i mean I've wheeled before and i know what my truck is capable of doing and have had things break on trail and have learned so I kinda know what I'm getting myself in to just wanted to see what's the best time to go considering I'm 2wd I know my shit won't last in snow or wet climates lol

Thank y'all very much for the advice guys! I will be taking it and wait out my trip to the summer time and plan it accordingly so the trails won't be wet when I head up north haha!

One thing I’ll add to what @WarFab Armor said is that the elevation and pitch that the trails in the area have might require low range. Not 4wd necessarily, but low range will prevent you from overheating and having to floor it, ripping up the trails like the sxs do
