The PS4 one was cool too. Had a really high end Sony Bravia TV and a PS4. The PS4 and TV are worth it alone. Just didn’t have the room for them.

    I'm a sucker for those!

When I was department supervisor for the 'R' Zone at Toys R Us, the Nintendo rep let me have the entire Gameboy SP kiosk as it was their inventory, and they were going to toss it anyway. I got to keep everything except the Gameboy SP it housed, but had the adapter to play said Gameboy on the LCD screen it came with.

I used to always get my components from the Fremont Fry’s. You don’t have stores anymore where you can buy a package of diodes, resistors, etc anymore.

Joined the military; ended up giving my brother and cousin a ton of stuff that could be/would be collectible to some.

Remember the limited edition Gameboy SP's that were; gold, NES retro style, and other 1 off just for Toys R Us? I owned all of them.

Had steel cased collectible series games unopened like Halo 2, the Zelda game with freebie exclusive to Toys R Us, and more.

That and a bunch of other memorabilia...all gone.

Dude, nothing at all. Even though CompUSA wasn't the best, I loved dropping in for random components when I had one up the street in CA. I grew up in Radio Shacks here, when you could get most any obscure thing you needed.
When we were kids and got into messing with the telecoms and building blue boxes, places like RS were heaven. I still have a cassette recorder from there I saved all these years.

My little brothers got the coolest video games and consoles for Christmas and Birthdays since I was in charge of inventory, and would set aside games and consoles just for me, friends, and family.

Yeah we snuck in right before pay phones started to get more advanced and then obsolete but it was good innocent fun making phreak boxes. Kinda felt like one whole summer was spent on it.

A guy I worked with at the meat market when I was ~18 had a pager, he was also a bit of a paranoid fellow. One time we kept paging him the number of the beast 666 anonymously over and over, more often each day until one day he flipped out and destroyed it haha.

Speaking of which, my dad just had to fly out Missouri last week to help my grandparents set up new smart phones. I guess my grandfather saw something on tv about hackers getting into phones and thought he'd just throw his iphones away.

It would be funny if it weren't mostly sad, he's been getting worse and worse symptoms of alzheimer's lately. Wanna take a trip up there soon so they can't meet our daughter, not often you get to meet your great grandparents.

Stupid Covid put the delay on it all year but they just got vaccinated

Yeah watched my great grandparents go through it as well, they both died about 15 years ago. My great grandmother especially got really bad dementia toward the end.

It originally came from JFK International Airport, got it from an auction. It was actually really really clean. They put a brand new handset on it before they sent it to me and put the coin acceptor on unlimited. I use it as a piggy bank, used to have it hooked to the house but the ringer got annoying.

Plenty of clean ones on Craigslist locally, but they're all asking $10k or more.

Only ones less than that are crawlers that people are getting rid of; may end up with something like that myself as the nice ones will continue to go up.
