Do you just drive around looking for 'stuff' sitting at the curb?

After looking at this website, I wanted to find out for myself if people were really throwing out what he shows and in his archive (everything thing he shows is legit from my experience).
    https://garbagefinds.com/

    The archive is here: https://garbagefinds.com/archives/

That’s such neat stuff, but it’s all expensive old stuff, I wonder what city he is in? The one I live in, you would not want to go through the trash! :puke:

A few years ago there were a couple guys that went around doing that.. only they tore apart garbage bags and left a mess. Not saying you would do that. It's frowned on here now, ruined it for good folks that recycle stuff.

That's a good point, people that do that are a pet peeve of mine. The home that was for sale with bags outside that I got most of the items pictured, I left better than I found it.

Hey WileC- What sand scoop are you using? I may be going to spend a few days at the beach over spring break and am going to try out getting more ‘purified’ gold nuggets there! :)

Along with a long handled sand scoop, I’ve been looking at diggers like the Lesche. There was a member that made one here that was similar to it, but I can’t find it. Anyone have an idea? I’d rather buy one that’s hand made and not production, but I am also looking for suggestions. Would like to get some urban prospecting tools for use when I can’t get out to the gold fields! Thanks!

Oh by the way, if anyone is interested in a almost brand new Keene puffer with solar panels, lithium powerbank and a earthquake classifier, let me know. A friend is selling it all for $1k obo.

I’d go to Franconia again but will have to go through the culverts under the tracks to get in, I understand the railroad police have been issuing tickets there now for people crossing the tracks. Bill Southern got a written warning on his last trip there!

Yeah, have to go commando to go detecting there! I saw a picture of some of the gold a guy got on the south side of the freeway there, he got a pretty big nugget. But he also said he did not get any meteorites over there, and did days of detecting for it, so the north is where it’s at. A couple people posted recent finds there, so there’s still a good chance of finding something on the north side.

Yeah that’s the one I saw, cool handle! So how do you like it? Should I worry about getting one with a serrated edge for grass, or does it matter much do you think?
