Really not trying to be a smart ass here, but what's with patch collecting?
    Is it like baseball cards?

I have this old coat I have always said "It would look rad with some old military patches, here and here..."
Never came to fruition, but thought I'd poke the bear and ask yall where your love for patches comes from.

I guess you could look at it like collecting cards. Except a Station 707 TRD skull isn't going to pull a couple million simply because it's a "rookie" patch.

I look at it more as art collecting. Most patches are made in small batches of around 100, forever. Some are even more limited and exist in single digit quantities. Those are the ones that will make you question your poor decisions when sending multiple hundreds of dollars to add them to your collection.

Plus trying to get a patch at release is an adrenaline rush (at least for me). Checking out faster than 400 other people to get 1 of 50 total patches can definitely work on your nerves.

I'd say that covers it pretty well.

That's about the gist of it...

I got into patch "collecting" when I saw the following patch. Being an engineer and having a 3rd gen, I "had to have it".

    5.jpg

Then, I figured, I had better collect the entire collection...
    7.jpg

Then, I started collecting random patches that amused me or related to my truck in some way... You'll note that most are from the same maker (thanks @orezona)

    4.jpg

    1.jpg

    3.jpg

    6.jpg

I've ran out of viable room in my truck (they don't stick well to a 3rd gen headliner), so I've slowed down on my patch buying.

It's fun hobby and keeps me looking forward to getting them in the mail. But it's a slippery slope and easy to spend too much money on it, because you HAVE to complete you set, or you fall in love with something rare (damn pink taco). Good luck if you decide to start collecting...

Interesting placement- never seen behind the seats before. I couldn’t do it with kids and so close to the ground so I resort to spending a solid minute each manipulating to the headliner. Luckily haven’t had any come down or fly away but I have had to rework a couple over time.
