So, im not super familiar with SNF yet and am still mentally mapping the place out. So when @Drtgrl said you all were "on 1N01 heading down the clavey"

my brain thought "oh theyre on the main road right down from us" (i was thinking of 1N04)

So like an idiot i led us north, back to 1n04 to meetup with yall. By the time we realized my mistake we were out of radio range. We were probably 2nm from you when we talked on the radio... and we drove north then west, back to Tuolumne, to wrap around and basically follow in your footsteps along 1n01 and then out through past the power station into groveland.

I was mostly glued to my map so i didnt take any photos really. Im sure Chris will chime in with some later

I cant wait to get back up there with my fly rod in a week or two

Well damn, ya, if you were at the intersection of 1N01 and 1N79 when we talked... you were close.

Negative (I think)... looking at g-maps, 4N12 is the road heading to Herring Reservoir

4N01 is off of 108 headed towards Beardsley Lake 38.152846, -120.065698

You're right... 4N12 is Herring Creek... 4N01 comes off just above Longbarn

We were hitting snow right at 5000 feet everywhere. Not sure how high 4N01 is.

I couldn’t go with you guys on your Sunday drive as my wife and I tried out Italian Bar road and up to the look out tower. Pretty easy. We found a decent spot with a view and of course ate well :)

    20210327_153643.jpg

Disclaimer: This was the only time i needed a tug out, for the most part i was able to rock back into my ruts all weekend... but the inside corner of this turn was sketch and i didnt feel like becoming part of a landslide so i kept plowing through the outside lol

but this is my scene right here,
    20210327_160342_HDR.jpg

early spring, snowmelt everywhere, the sound of flowing water in every valley and canyon, puddles and just the right amount of mud. Goddam

Ive had this for years, but only recently got a premium membership ot whatever they call it.

Its pretty sweet, i plan to get a samsung tablet just for this app pretty much (and maybe a movie or two).

You can pre-download areas and the gps chip in most phones is more than adequate for what we do in most areas we do it.
