Freedlyville Quarry / Dorset Caves group trip?

Not to revive a long forgotten thread, but is anyone interested in setting up a group adventure out there again? Just went this weekend and would love to go back with a crew

Came real close to going in 2018, didn't make it, glad this is coming around again.

 

Yeah, I missed out on the original group. Finally made it up this weekend and had a blast, even in a stock rig with at best "meh" wheeling expertise.

 

i missed the original trip too and would be interested as long as i can get a hotel and not camp haha

 

Good lord... Talk about a thread revival. Think this was the first TW trip I ever did / semi organized haha

It was a blast too. Just look out for nails and other shit in & around the caves

Bump! Anyone planning another trip this year? I’ve been hitting some trails in northern VT, still a little too sloppy for Belvedere mountain road. Parked at the base and walked up a ways. Looks like a blast. Really want to hit the caves though, never been.

 

I’m interested but have to get a broken coil-over sorted out, hoping to order today.

 

Awesome. Figured planning a few months (or more) prior would make it easier.

Plenty of time to sort that coil out!

There’s a spare bedroom upstairs available here for anyone who wants it. Full guest bathroom downstairs. Attached 1500 sq/ft shop that will have a tiki bar upstairs in the next month or two. Plenty of room to sleep up there also if you don’t mind the bikes as company. Downstairs is a full vehicle lift should anyone need it. Tire changer and balancer. Fire pit in the backyard. Little dead end road, 6 houses, awesome neighbors. Good place to meet up if people choose. Caves are about 2 1/2 hrs south of me.

Address is 2 E Williams St, Essex Jct. Google images still shows the little 1 car garage.

I’m going to be finishing up the exterior of the shop in June so anytime after that would work great for me.

 

Awesome of you to offer up, by June I hope to only need a place to park the truck and open the tent.

 

I’ll be going at least once, probably multiple times and would love to make it a group thing. I’m in south eastern VT so the caves are about an hour west of me via rt30/rt7.

My place could also be a meet up point potentially for people coming up/over from western MA/southwestern NH.

 

Works for that too! Can’t wait to get one.

 

I’m up for another trip to Dorset Caves. @Checkers10160 and I went up there this winter with S VT Offroad Assoc.

We have also been considering a spring TW trip to Sucker pond by Bennington again maybe May-June ish.
