Any third gen taco 16+ Sr to Trd pro
Dealer will say all their bs so make you spend more money. I remember they told me that 4Runner pro rims won’t fit my taco.

For some reason I think folks at dealerships are told you must always make the customer think you know everything. When in turn it makes them look dumb.

    Envious!
My local dealer is fantastic to work with HOWEVER does not do lift kits which left me to rely on outside service providers which proved to be a disaster for me. I had tire balance issues (which the dealer fixed for them with their road force balancer after the tire shop tried balancing 3 separate occasions not to mention telling me that road force balancing was BS and a money grab.....this tire shop did not believe me when I told them road force balancing fixed the vibration issue they had been chasing). They told me it was the tires that I had asked for (BFG AT 265/70/17 which I thought was pretty common ?!?)

Not to mention the issues they had doing an alignment.
I wish I could have ALL my work that I didn’t have time to do at my local dealer but they are internally haggling about doing aftermarket stuff to their products.(Valley Toyota in Fraser Valley, B.C )......they are the best dealer I have ever purchased from!

Would something like this be worthwhile for moderate offroad use? I'm not talking serious rock climbing here, just standard trails, mud, moguls here and there...
My only real concern I guess is the block as opposed to add a leafs, I've read something about blocks can cause axle warp.....

Is it worth keeping the take off shocks, grill, and sensor to sell?

If the TRD dampeners start leaking at the seal it would be nice to have your old stuff as a backup.

Anyone know the largest tire size you could use with this lift? Going with the 17" pro wheel, but trying to decide between 265/70R17 vs 285/70R17 BF Goodrich KO2's. Both are rated load "C" which is my goal for weight. Just curious if the 285's would fit with this lift without additional mods/cuts.

Open to other tire brand and size suggestions too. Daily driver but I do several trips a year which go from long highway to destination then camping/overlanding/off-road. So back and forth with the right tire sizing for said overall road and off-road use (capability, mpgs, etc driving my decision).

Great info on this thread regarding the various dealer installs. Everyone who's done so, your pics look great! Appreciate the info/help.

Definitely will rub. IMO 265/75/16 on oem wheels still looks good. Also aftermarket 16x8 will make them look bigger. You don’t need 285’s to be cool. Unless by all means you want to. Cmc , plastic trimming etc.
    Good luck

265/70/17 on the trd pro 4runner wheels is ideal, no calibration issues, rubbing, no gear hunting, stress on suspension, and 285s is too big for the 7 inch wheel, get some sl rated Toyo open country at2 tires and be happy. Read the 31s and done thread. The 265s are a great combination. 285 look great, don't get me wrong but when doing them comes a lot of aggravating issues. Plus you can keep your mudflaps.

Thanks for the quick reply, and thanks for the good info. Without a doubt trying to keep this functional rather than 'being cool' haha. I see you mentioned 16 instead of my *somewhat* decided 17. The 17" TRD Pro wheel is 7" wide, have considered some aftermarkets however all seem to be heavier which was what I was trying to avoid.

Also, BF Goodrich KO2 doesn't come in the 265/75/16 from what I can tell, would need to switch to Wrangler Duratrac or Grabber X3's for those specs. If you're running something else or one of those curious what might be recommended / anyone who's had experience with them.

I struggled with this decision too. I went with 265 70R17 to keep the weight down, since Tacoma's are under-geared to begin with IMHO. Very happy with the decision. My truck still has lots of power and the AT Tire/Wheel combo with the TRD lift gives it a perfect stance to my eye. The ride quality is great too.

I think I could have gone up one size to 275 70R17 without rubbing but the only C rated AT in that size was a Falken that weighed too much for my tastes. The 275 70R17 would only have given me an addition 0.6" but would have added 40lbs or so. I'm very happy with the tires I picked, aesthetically and ride quality wise.

Toyo open country at3s sl are awesome tires, zero balance issues, barley need any weights, light tire, rides awesome, quiet, awesome in the rain and on the beach, no experience with them in the snow. 60k mile warranty too!

I’m currently running this lift with 265/70R17 KO2s on the 4R pro wheel. I’m getting 285/70R17 KO2s put on next week. I’m not expecting rubbing issues due to the wheel specs of 7” and +4 offset, but will post pics
