Man Lyft aint what it used to be since Covid. Granted I haven't used it in over a year. Dropped my truck off at the alignment shop and need to get to work.
Before you would request a ride and they'd find a driver near you in a few seconds, today it took 20 min and still nothing so I just cancelled it. Gonna wait for my wife to get done with her work thing and come pick me up

If you want a good seal, do it right and ditch that foam tape crap that is probably still sitting on it. The front portion of the seal is where you'll have the most issues. The seal below includes goop to even it out and fill in the gaps on the front.

Im confused.. which seal? Is it a hard plastic one?

Regretfully gasket stuff is expensive for anything good or long lasting

Will bookmark those to do soon, thank you.

I'm at work so I can't take a good pic, but there's rubber liner that seals the cab of the truck to the shell, which is half on and half off rn from the sun eating the silicone off

Fuck that seal, rip it all off IMO. Doing what I told you with the bicycle tube takes care of the issue that seal is trying to do. Here's a picture of a product that's meant to do the same thing..about 35 bucks, but I did it with a tube insteadlarge_178_T83-Truk-Boot.jpg

I believe the bike inner tube will be higher quality too.

Yea that's another dust ingress prohibitor.. replacing with new is a major pain in the ass cause usually the glass frame gets all forked up and it's hard sliding a new seal in.. given the age I'd buy new one of those as well, honestly it's a good idea to change any rubber parts when you get a used cap, unless it's a newer unit which I don't think your's is given the state of that seal

Getting one for a fatty bike tire, I think it is... only issue is the shifting that can happen with elevation changes. Which cause the inner tube to expand or deflate depending what direction your going

Oh shit u sent me a gold mine full of info thanks. I will read thru that as I get time today. Ya the front seal looked like that rear one, loose. Can I go in and pressure wash the inside? I think he had foam down on the caps seal point, as it hasn't slid and seemed tight but I'll double check.

Idk if I'll bother getting keys made yet, but will need new shocks for the rear window too. I noticed he had wires by the rear window, but there's no tail light on the shell, interested to dig on that too

Yeah the frame seems ok, but the rubber had melted and morphed. I tried popping it back in and then removing it and trying it all again. That on Amazon too?

Tbh, I was just gonna gasket it back on with silicone but luckily ripped it all off to do it the right way. Now my hands are just all blue from the gasket hahaha

You're in AZ, go ahead and pressure wash it, it'll dry out no problem. Alot of these caps have the 3rd taillight on the rear window and that's what those wires are for, but given their location they break off stupid easy
