What type of mpg are you getting with them?

Only lost maybe 1-2 MPG at most. Not even sure yet since I haven't made a long highway trip with them. Our forest roads and back roads had already caused me three flats and one hole in the 10 months I ran the stock Adventure Kevlars so 10ply it is. I ran 10 ply on my former truck as well. These were some of the lightest 10 ply I could find with the 3 peak rating.

Still loving these tires in 255/80/R17. Had them installed last October and took them into the Utah backcountry with 4 people and loaded with tons of gear. No issues and super grippy and pretty quiet and smooth on the highway. Have about 7-8K miles on them - just had them rotated. Very little wear. Have handled snow really well. Truck has 4.88 gears and the Bilstein 6112/5160 lift.

So I'm on the fence on getting these E-Rated. Going from an C-Rated set of BFG KO2s. I like the fact that they weight 48lbs for being an E rated. I am just concerned about the ride quality that would come from being E Rated. Can anyone chime in?

I came from ST Maxx in the same size and I feel these tires ride softer at the same PSI. I noticed it at the 1st driveway curb. However, they will ride stiffer than SL-rated tires. If I had a pavement princess, I would run lighter SL or C-load tires. No need to sacrifice performance and mpg just for looks unless that is mostly what you care about. For years I ran an SL lightweight rated Dynapro ATM in 265/75/R16 and took it off-road with no issues but I knew I was taking a risk. I am not sure how they compare to a C-load BFG. Years ago, I had the E-rated BFG and those were stiff. I feel these current tires ride much smoother. I think you would be happy with the ride with these.

Thanks for the input, stoked to get these in about 10k miles. Just checked the treads and the top of George Washington’s head is still covered haha

I went from c rated 265/70r17 KO2s to e rated 255/80r17 OC AT3s and the ride is actually slightly improved. Of course, it's not apples to apples since the Toyo has more sidewall, but they're also on a wider rim. I recall several people complaining about the c rated KO2 ride quality and even some people saying the e rated in the same size rode better.

    Hahaha!!!
Well to get back to topic. I had these tires around Moab this last week. I thought they performed very well for an all terrain tire. My comparisons are not fair because last time I was on this particular trail I was on 265s and now on 34s with new gears and a much nicer lift but I found myself in 4wd a lot less. Went off the trail on a sand dune and back to the road with no troubles. A Jeep JK on 33” KO2s followed and ended up stuck almost immediately in the sand. Probably more a lack of speed and then to much gas but still fun to rub it into the KO2 fan club. Road noise isn’t bad at all. Aired down to around 18psi for this trip. Glad I got these and glad I tried something different.

I didn't mention it before but an FJ on 33-inch BFG 285's was following me out of the Needles District and was having significantly more traction issues on some of the climbs with the wider tires. Not sure if it was the width or shorter wheelbase or tires themselves.

Love the needles district. Probably my favorite side out of the three canyonlands. Off-roading fun to hiking and exploring ratio is perfect for me. I haven’t had enough time with these 34s (285/75R17) to decide what I think. Coming from 255/85r16 and before that 265/75r16s They seem pretty good so far.

It's hard for me to overstate how much I love these tires, especially in the 255/80R17 size with the SEMA wheels. They are great on-road, even in the wet, they are great off-road (which I don't do a ton), they look fantastic, and they are wearing like iron. The thing I was most impressed with was their traction on snow and ice. We only had one real snow this year but we loaded up went and ran some forest roads in Pisgah. We came to a iced over hill with about 20 trucks at the bottom that were all unable to get up. I put the left side of the truck in the ditch where there was still a little snow (not just ice) and crawled right up. Obv had the rear locked and ATRAC on but still, they hooked up great.

I have since installed the same wheel tire combo on my wife's 2021 T4R ORP (without a lift even, minor front plastic trimming) and my friend's 2016 T4R (with BP-51s). Have been great all around.

I am thinking of doing 255/80R17 with the sema wheels. I have 3rd gen off road and will be lifting about 2". Will this combo fit with out rubbing? Are the sema wheels the same specs as the stock off road wheels? Sorry don't really know much about wheels.
    Thanks
