Nice! Be prepared for what you might have to do/say if your current full time gig wants to counter the offer from the new place (salary wise at least)

That's not a bad amount of time, given the circumstances! Glad it's worked out for you:muscleflexing:

The dude who quit/fired had been there almost 30 years and was only just at what I'll be making, I figured they wouldn't be able to afford giving me that much of a pay raise but your right I didn't consider them counter offering :(

Fuck.... I don't know what I would say/do if they do offer that

I've found steep but short drops feel less precarious at 3/5 mph vs riding the brakes at a fraction of a mph for me anyway

It was just a habit I got into with the crap tires that came on my 01 runner that would slide down anything that wasn't dry pavement

Well you might be right then, they may not be able to afford to meet what you're being offered. In that case (I don't know these people at all so I'm just guessing), they might be disappointed you're leaving but hopefully they will understand you're doing what you have to do for yourself and your family.

    lol

I grew up in conservative country. My friend had a Clearplay DVD player that would automatically censor swears and skip stuff like sex scenes etc. It was hailed as revolutionary

Thanks, it's a huge deal for me because that's an extra 16k a year before taxes and I'm currently already at the most I've ever made in my life. With that kinda cash I'll be 100% debt free with a lil extra in savings in only a year

They'll definitely treat me right, the new owner was very concerned on my behalf because he knows, career wise, it's technically a demotion for me. But I'll be a shop lead essentially and work with the in house engineer on new equipment designs and prototyping so I won't just be "an assembler"
