Try to stick it out for at least 6 months since it's your first "legitimate" repair shop. It'll look way better on your resume

 

Those just look like high limit saftys. It just has a thermo disc that snaps out of place when it gets to hot

 

Smart, that’s exactly what they are according to Zane. They’re wired in-line with the three heating elements inside the pressure vessel. Part number lookup says they’re thermal switches.

Yeah its a safty. If you start to over heat it will kill the heater. And the little red button is a manual reset.

they go by many names buts it’s basically just a bimetal that warps at a set temp. We use them for all kinds of things. Your dryer has them, the Heater in your attic had them. Just about anything that heats and can cause a fire has one or atleast some kind of fuseable link

 

It's a good thing it's a well known fact that any font size under 6 is too small for the fed to read

This thing is so ridiculously overengineered, the metal vessel used to heat the water has a pressure rating certification on it. Same as my air compressor.

 

Just be like my co worker and type in all caps because its hard for him to read text on a phone normally

Yeah because it can become a bomb if you over heat it and make steam

 

The solenoids have a rating on them, 28v at 7w. Around ~0.25 amps. I set my power supply to 28v and applied voltage to it and nothing happened. I’ve been told it might need water pressure to function. They’re the old timey screw looking fuses on the left.

 

Any vessel that holds pressure has a rating and most have some kind of vent to relase pressure im cases of it getting to high.

 

Oh that might be why there’s two random lines connected to the top that go nowhere. It vents out the bottom. There are nylon lines connected to it and I’m not sure what the other three do.

 

It could be some kind of pressure release just like your water heater

 

They just "fluid" pressure. Stick your air compressor nozzle in a hose line and test your theory. I don't know but I can confirm that, yes, some are built to only function when pressure is present

 

Knowing you, you'd come up with something that's easier to adapt.
