Think I need to clean all that out of the piping?

 

Does it set off your OCD?

 

Only if it would cause a smoking issue

 

A little brake clean would do it well.

 

Fixed the driver's oil drain. The wire cutters wouldn't touch the steel line but luckily I had a dremel and cut off wheel. Should've done that from the start


Fitting is now on correctly and the drain is routed probably the best it's been. Completely off the manifolds and the steering column now.

I wish. I think it was all in vain because the center section is screwed. Got home after getting dinner and saw smoke under the hood. Popped it and the bottom bolts for the centre section came loose and I saw oil oozing out and then it ignited. Luckily I was able to blow it out instantly but I think I need a new center section

 

Good save! Better a center section than a whole truck.

Yea I'm definitely getting another one this week. Already have one in the garage but I do need one for the truck

 

How would the center section get bad, just from pulling it and clocking it?

Loose perhaps, but that just seems odd.

 

I think it’s been bad this whole time and the people who’ve had the truck before wouldn’t say anything. I kept getting hints from two shops saying they could rebuild them or that they think the passenger turbo is bad. I think I’ve been fighting a loosing battle and was given a bad turbo from the start. They just didn’t want to fork over the $1800 it costs to buy a new one cause they fucked up. So now the burden falls on me.

 

Time to go bigger??? . Just kidding. Budget rules choices, when time is also a factor.

 

Thought you fine folks in here would like to see/hear the dyno run from an engine my buddy and I just finished frankensteining together. It's a SOHC VG30 Nissan engine bored out to a 3.3L. We threw it together in a week and then street tuned it in three days to get it to the dyno. Made 431HP and 455tq on a really conservative pump gas tune (very fat and timing not aggressive). 20psi of boost fed by a 69mm Borg Warner S369SXE. Shooting for over 600 on E85 (when we can finally get it again), the last version of this engine (as a low compression 3.0) ran 563HP on E85 so hopefully the bump from 8.2:1 to 8.9:1 and the extra 10% displacement will get us there.

Just a low buck drag car. We're not really slidey bois haha. It's been a pet project for a long time between truck nonsense and the more expensive cars. Its a good bit higher power than my BMW, but it isn't as fast. I think it's the gear spread, trans isn't very close ratio and we haven't gotten no lift to shift setup yet
