Hit Skyline Drive from Front Royal just down to Luray/Sperryville yesterday morning. Went up and down the mountain and then back home via 340 for a nice 95 mile loop...

Yeah, it was definitely a rather stark ride but you could see a lot the trees starting to bud. Hopefully, just another week or two before spring really "springs"!

If you aren't going to be riding some heavy duty rocky trails, I don't think you will get as much benefit out of the rekluse as you hoped. I actually just pulled mine off because I felt it was limiting me a bit offroad.

they can be a bit of a "crutch" imo

people love them though and ive never tried one but i cant say ive ever felt the need to yet either. estart makes it easy not to need one.

I have one, definitely a crutch, but so damn convenient if you don't take yourself too seriously. I have zero shame running it.

With a 500lb+ bike the benefit of not stalling it on a hill, having to catch it and try to keep it from tipping while your feet are slipping around in dirt or rocks or sand, or frying up clutch plates trying to slip your way up a sandy wash is so worth it. So many scenarios where it's just too damn convenient.

Plus, the look you get from other riders when you pull up to and pull away from a stop sign one handed and not touching the clutch :rofl:

No shame at all, a 500lb bike would be a handful without a doubt.

I have no problem of abusing the clutch on the 300, lol

After riding some single track the other day without it, I feel it wasn't helping me as much I thought it was originally.

Honestly it felt so weird having it do it for me that it felt good to go back to normal clutching again.

Speaking of which, got my first real ride of the season in this past weekend. Felt great. I am still trying to get the clutch adjusted properly since I went to a stock clutch setup + heavy duty springs + an RSC lever. Basically in order to get the free play I need to not be slipping the clutch with the lever let go, The clutch lever needs to be to the bar to fully engage the clutch and it lets off fast, like the moment I start letting go.

Also tested how the inReach felt on the USWE, I was afraid it would be in the way but it's not.

Whyd you go with heavier clutch springs? I would not have recommended that for offroad. Itll wear out your fingers and you lose some of what you gain with one of those levers

I thought it would it would make the clutch better :anonymous:

I should just swap it out. It’s like 20 mins of work.

Finally got some miles in today. Cant remember the last time I rode. Didn’t keep track of how long but I rode around for a good while since the weather was nice. About 80 degrees and sunny.
