We had something similar here in Canada. Dude was doing the same thing, low prices to get you in and then never do anything and or give you money back. He's going through courts now after we all decided to go after him but it's still on going and most likely no one will ever see the full value of what they dished out.
Hope things work out for all you that have been affected. It's messed up.

It used to be a legitimate LLC and is advertised as such, but he stopped paying his fees. Anyone that files a claim does so against him specifically, but also DBA (doing business as) Rock Solid Toys.

Not an expert on these things, but I'm pretty sure unless he is also registered with a fictitious business name (DBA) he cannot conduct any business under any name but his own.

I'm sorry to hear that you had already sent him money. When you posted on Marlin's site I was hoping you were just in discussions on your 3 link. There is no way he is going to do anything to make this right. First there is way too much money involved. Second he has been telling all of his clients the same bs same for years.

If you paid by cc contact them and file a claim to get your money back, hopefully it has not been too long.

6 vehicles rescued from the grip of this narcissistic sociopathic fraudulent vendor. I hope he gets the help he needs.

I’m sorry for all those affected. It was tragic to see and hear the pain people have been thru - to look in their eyes and see just how impactful this business has been on people’s lives is quite shocking.

Yes, in a way, it’s a first world problem, but this is people’s hard earned money, trust, hope, expectation and lifestyle messed up by this chaos.

A sad time for the offroad world when this happens.

Damn. I always dreamed of sending my truck and a bag of cash to Wyatt. Good thing I suck at saving money I guess.

I've been on the trail with Wyatt on more than one occasion all i can say is he is very elitists and only allowed the most loyal fanboys (usually customers and especially the really about to be a customer) in his close little circle. He also seemed to know how to pick out his potential clients lmao. I hope he gets at the end.

Ironically, a few years ago I was on trail with both Satin and Tyler of Pelfreybilt that was led by Wyatt..it was fun times that day! Tyler and Satin couldn't stop talking crap about RST and the way they operated out of the driveway at the time believe it or not.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, I got my $2500 back after 6 months. I ordered a Taco Box from Wyatt for a 4x4 conversion on my 2006 Tundra. I went through him instead of ordering directly from Marlin because he was the only source for a 6-speed manual adapter at the time (spring of 2019). The initial phone call was great and he seemed like a really helpful guy.

He told me that Marlin had a one month lead time on the crawl boxes. After that passed, he blamed all of the delays on them. It was always the "next one in line" and "going to ship next week". I was on the schedule with a local shop to do work on my truck, so I was anxious about the delivery time. Once I started asking pointed questions about where he was getting the 6-speed adapter from and exactly when my parts would ship, he went silent on me. No response to emails or voicemails and nothing from my request for a refund. At the two month mark I got concerned enough to check in with my credit card company. They told me that I could dispute the charge for up to a year. I decided to hold out for a while since there was no place else to get the adapter I needed and it seemed like delays from Marlin were par for the course.

I finally gave up at the 6 month mark and decided to do my 4x4 conversion with a single case. I disputed the charge and had no problem getting my money back in the fall of 2019. The only real downside was that I spent $300+ on a triple shifter from another company that I now have no use for. The only good thing I can say about RST is that the writeup on their website about how to transplant the input / planetary from t-case behind a 6-speed manual into a J-shift FJ case was pretty helpful to me when I went that route with my truck. I just happened to stumble onto this thread today and signed up here to chime in. Who knows how many others there are like me out there, who got tangled up with RST but have no connection to TW.

If anyone still needs an ADD harness, there is a company called 12th State Offroad that is making some.

Out of sheer curiosity, what's the story with SFSMedic's truck? I think his IG is the same as on here @SFSMedic . Looks like he was one of the few that didn't get bent over by RST. Looked like it took them a full year to finish it.

When I checked earlier today, this is the 4th result on google when you search RST. Hopefully people see this thread right under his website.

    3link on tons
    Wow

I'm kinda surprised but also i'm not, he was always kinda flaky but not to this level

Back in 2013 I 4wd converted my Prerunner Tacoma after RockSoild toys did the first conversion. I bought the ADD harness off of him (could have made myself tho, pretty simple) He gave me the guidebook on how to do the swap for free, i was not anywhere near as mechanically knowledgeable as i am now so was a huge help

In May 2015 i reached out to him about SAS for my truck. Already had 14bolt/chevy63 rear end so was ready for the front. I sent him $2700USD for a whole SAS "Kit" brackets, steering, hydro assist, hardware, joints and 2x 2.0 14" Radflo coilovers with springs. I think i was the first kit, it was right after he built that white 3link Tacoma (I bought his coilovers) To be fair, it was a good deal but back then not many guys were willing to hack up their newer trucks, not as much demand. Was promised parts would come fast, most of it was late. I was disappointed at the time most of what i got was drop shipped brackets from Ballistic, steering from Howe etc.

He was having a problem finding someone to make frame plates at the time, so i waited 3 months. He did come through tho after I emailed him constantly about updates. Today i would just make a template and plasma cut them in under a hour.

He told me I was getting fully assembled Frame link brackets that all I would have to do is weld them to the frame. What i got was basic 3 link brackets from Ballistic. After awhile of hassling him, I gave up and made my own mounts. Took the extra time and used 3 link calculator and got my numbers solid. So I wouldn't call it a kit, it was a list of parts from vendors he sent out. He gave me a really good deal on the coilovers tho so in the end, i didn't overpay, i just waited longer for his parts to come then ordering myself. He promised me Tshirts and shit, never got anything other then drop shipments

Knowing what i know now, RST and the Beast were the first for this Gen Toyota, but not the best.

In Moab my steering box pushed through the frame, because the 3/16" plate he made wasn't enough. Put 1/4" plates on both sides of rail.
The steering shaft/tube bearing design through the plate tower was a shit design. I cut it out and redid the towers pretty quick
The truck sits too high, not enough up travel because the plate towers aren't tall enough, they need to be custom towers
On the other truck he built, he ran a single sheer heim on the high steer, double sheer is only way to run heims
    Still far better then rockslayer

Anybody looking for good link kits, look at 4wd Underground for professional quality or make your own

Shitty, I wonder if the engine would start and run after all this time. Machinery sitting around for years and years can be hit or miss when starting it back up.

It makes me sick to my stomach knowing that there are people like this asshole in the world that is willing to steal money from people like this. I’m really glad i found this thread when i did because i just saved up my money to have my truck converted to a 4x4 by him. Hope this asshole gets what he deserves, best of luck to all you guys trying to get your money back, hope it works out in your guys favor.
