Thanks. Ill call ICON cause their website doesnt show anything. And yeah I have been to SDHQ before. My only issue is when buying $3500 worth of stuff it is a lot of tax to pay if I buy local. If I buy from somewhere in cali that has free shipping and no tax would basically allow me to get bumps for free. I spoke with Scott at Camburg and it looks like buying direct is gonna be the cheapest. No shipping and no tax. The only shocks Camburg supplies are SAW and FOX though. I am basically ready to buy just ironing out all the details.

So far from all the info I have came across it looks like Total Chaos uses the standard 2.5x8 shocks that collapse to 16". Camburg's kit requires the shock to collapse to 14 3/8" to get full compression out of the arms. Maybe cause Camburg is boxed arms and are a little thicker?? I'm not sure. But I have spoke to Sonny at Down South and emailed King and no luck on a 2.5x8 that collapses to 14 3/8". Camburg sells a shock with their kit that is that "special" size but only FOX or SAW. Am I missing something or looks like I have to go with SAW or FOX????

Edit: Just spoke to Marco at Down South and King will make a shock for the Camburg kit. It "utilizes an "Overcap" style top cap to be able to achieve the correct travel". Awesome! Kings it is for me :)

I remember the difference on my mid-travel setup once I had the jounce shocks mounted. Stupid-easy to go way too fast!

I'm all freaked out from reading earlier posts that people are going to steal my stuff when I get it. Could you weld the nuts on those bump stop mounts once you have them where you want?

I think I am going to go with Camburg. I like the bump stops and that the lower inners are uni-balls. I really want Kings though but from my post above I dont think I can find the right length to go with the Camburg LT. Scott at Camburg gave me a smoking price on the kit with shocks (SAW or FOX) shipped to AZ. But I want to try and find Kings before I pull the trigger

You could use a 10" shock if you wanted. Just have to cut your shock tower and run a shock hoop. You'll end up running one anyway for the bypass, and it's stronger too.

Very true. Didn't think of that. That way when I do get a by-pass I just bolt it in. Def something to think about

Depends on your setup. If you wanted to you could spend that much on shocks alone, not including fabrication of the mounts.

You can pick up the Giant kit for $1300.

If you can weld, you can save a chunk of change on the installation. You'll still need shocks, upper shock hoops, lower shock mounts, fiberglass bedsides, etc.

A lot of labor goes into the rear conversion, which is why you see so many folks not doing the rear until they almost eat it in the desert.

    Hey Guys,

Looking into LT for the Spring for my truck,

my dilemma is that I don't really want a SUA rear since the terrain I drive on would probably just eat it the bottom of the springs and what not.

I've just got my AP 3" Expo leafs for the rear and I'm wondering if I'd be alright with like a Camburg LT kit up front or would the rear just be all over the place when I hit bumps?

Also, Does anyone know if the AP Fiberglass Fenders (mini) would work with a Camburg kit or only with AP Kit?

    Thanks,

Pretty sure nobody on this board is rich, but we do have good credit, lol. You could do rear LT for under a grand easy. Find some 3" lift Chevy springs from a junkyard (new they are pretty cheap too), fab up your own mounts, and cruise the RDC classifieds for used shocks and you are good to go.

Just spoke to Marco at Downsouth Motorsports and King will make a shock for the Camburg kit. It "utilizes an "Overcap" style top cap to be able to achieve the correct travel". Awesome! Kings it is for me :)

Edit to make the link show correctly

3" shock would be overkill for a DD/ weekend prerunner. no need for that, bypasses are nice buy plenty of people out there run smooth bodies cause bypasses are alot of $$$.

it is such a night and day difference between my old mid travel set up to my rear LT it's not even funny. i'm running 2.5 triple bypasses w/ 2.0 4" air bumps... it's nice:D
