Don't mind me asking, is that a strong enough area to be pulled out of a ditch?, thanks

total noob question, but I have never bought brand new from a dealer before....

do I have to take the truck to the specific dealer I bought it from for the regular service and maintenance, or can I go to any Toyota dealer? The place I got it from is farther away from a local place (got a better deal there) and I dont' want to make that long drive if I don't have to.

Will I get crap from the dealer I did not buy it from for bringing it there?

you can go anywhere you want. Any Toyota dealer will acknowledge any warranty you have on your truck. You are not obligated to go to the purchasing dealer to service your truck.

    Oh man…
You don’t even have to bring it to a dealer. As long as you get scheduled services done, you’re good. You can even do it yourself, save receipts.

    Congrats on the new truck!

Safe answer is no. Could you get away with it? It depends. Do you feel lucky?

from the manufacturer (AMI STYLING): Ideal for adding stylish aftermarket hooks/shackles to your truck.

Recently updated my Entune firmware in my 2016. The previous update I did last year got rid of a lot of random reboots. Hope this one clears up the occasional bluetooth disconnects. The numbers are hex so I was running version 1.1.146 (92) and now I am running 1.1.164 (A4).

    IMG_0728.jpg

I followed the directions from this post:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-multimedia-updates.696603/

Basically put all the update files in the main root folder of a Fat32 USB stick and let the unit grab the one it needs.

I don't understand why you cannot pull using the shackles installed in the front. They bolt to the same cross member that Toyota has the OEM hooks bolted to.

I will be a willing guinea pig if I ever need to use mine. I had the same thought about the factory bolts being utilized.

During the install of these (AnzoUSA - 111500) headlights I made all the proper connections. The problem came when I tried the low beam and it didn't illuminate when switched on, but it does illuminate when I turned on the high beams. So I flipped the low beam plug as per the instructions that came with the lights, but that made each of the fuses blow, I replaced the fuses and then switched the high and low beam connections and then only my low beams work with the high beams switched on, and the high beam did not illuminate at all no matter the setting. Then I switched it back. I have double and triple checked all other connections and my DRL and Turn Signals work as designed. I doubt that both headlights would have a manufacturing defect but I suppose it is possible, but if anyone has any input on something that I am missing or possibly doing wrong it would be certainly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Because these are not a rated recovery point. They are for decoration, not recovery.

Bulletproof fabricating has rated recovery points at about 8600 lbs. and the ARB recovery point is the gold standard.

I would not do any hard pulling with these, towing I guess, would be ok, on a flat surface.

Any Toyota dealer will service your truck and I think the dealer you bring it to for service would welcome the business. I did the same as you are suggesting only in reverse. Bought close to home, ended up going to a small town dealer further away for service because I was treated better and so far all the service has been 100%.

The Service Manager at my dealership told me that parts and service make much more money for the store than sales. That's why he's so focused on good service. He's been the service manager for over 20 years, which used to be very rare, but I don't know if it still is.

Thus, no matter where you buy it, you can bring it to a dealer you like for service. Or as others have noted, you can bring it anywhere as long as you have receipts.

The Draw-Tite Front Receiver can be used for recovery as well. It's pull rating is 9000 lbs.

    with one bolt....

Those are TOW hooks and not a recovery point. Tacoma does not have a factory installed recovery point.

There's a lot of info out there on this subject, and it's not just sales pitches.

If you ever saw a recovery fail you would think differently.

New decals, Something a little different from most. I thought i liked my placement but i might re-order a set and move them more center. When i had them mocked up i did not like it lower and center but you know how it goes.
