We plan on driving through on the way to Del Rio from Pensacola FL on the 5th of April. Would love to spend the night on the 9th on the river walk. Any recommendations? Btw, I’m born and raised in Del Rio, my dad calls is diarrhea lol. Folks still live there and we’ll be celebrating my moms 74th bday. Haven’t been home since 2004 so I’m sure there’s a bit of change. Will be bringing the new 2020 Turd Pro too

I think Lockhart is ONE building per side bigger, but looks just like it. And downtown is actually "bustling" these days!


Groceries unloaded and put away. Time to find my shoes and get to work.

Population of Lockhart is double what Floresville is.

 

Just pick a hotel that's on this part of the river, parking can be upwards of $25night.

I have stayed at Menger, Dury, Hilton all kinda pricey, but close/direct Riverwalk access for various restaurants and bars. Menger about 2 blocks away.

 

I've stayed at the Holiday Inn and Marriot for events at the convention center. Both were nice and had their perks.

 

Despite the fact that we're a happening place, people still are slow to move here. We just have a few people that did want to start new business downtown. Heck, we got a spiffy new Tattoo place right on the square now! Durn hipsters!
Almost all the new homes are outside old city limits, but apartments going up fill fast.

 

Ha stay in Fredericksburg the cheapest hotel on main street is 249 a night Damn germans

As others have said, parking can be pricey.
There are public options that maybe cheaper.
