Customer broke his stud that holds his torch flint. Stainless threads in an aluminum piece now.

 

Back to the welding table.

 

I rationalized it as, "Would I pass up a deal on a drill & two batteries for $90, even if I didn't really need it?" Of course the answer to that should be obvious. Should be here on Wednesday!

I know what acme threads are...but what are triple lead acme threads?

Might even be a few magazines there too!

Acme threads come in different types, there's double lead, triple, even quadruple lead. Basically it's like 2, 3, or 4 threads instead of 1 and speeds up the shaft. You see them a lot on feeds like a table or cross slide, etc.

Here's a shaft on a piece of a tractor I had, it's triple lead, if you look close at the end there are 3 starting threads. It's super fast.

How many do the clips magazine's hold on each one? My Shield holds 7, it's a .40 cal though.
