I dont recall ever seeing any bolt-on or welded sliders failing at the mounting points, I have seen sliders fail due to poor design... Havnt heard anything too good about all pro, every other bolt on sliders iv heard of havnt had any problems...

You can also email Brandon at avid, im sure he can fab something up for you thats to your liiking.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
Demello usually runs a sale just after new years...might look into that. I couldn't be happier with my bolt ons from them. I have no concerns with them not being strong enough. They are very stout and have eight 1/2" grade 8 bolts per side holding them on. Fit and finish was top notch on my set.

Yes, you almost need to drill holes using any bolt on sliders for them to be able to lift the truck up and not budge.

I got the Avid bolt-ons. Common sense would tell me that they're not going to be as strong as those that are welded on, but I'd still rather have the bolt-ons than nothing at all.

I got mine because I like the look better than steps. I had Brandon at Avid extend them a bit and they really protect against idiots opening their doors into my Tacoma.

    You don't want to know...

I like that. Exactly how far out are they extended?

As soon as I get a TRD Double Cab I'm going to have Brandon make me some also. My biggest concern is door dings.

I was born and raised 1 hour from the Rubicon in California, I have seen tons of All-Pro products on the trails. All-Pro is AWESOME, I have personally seen the abuse they can take. And remember they have over 20 years of experience. I have Bolt on sliders on the way to me, be here 1/4/11!!!

I asked him to just make sure that they extend beyond the sides of the door by about an inch...And as you can see I also asked that he put the flare out on the back...

If bolt ons are designed properly they will be as strong as a weld on slider all day long.
Watch out for sliders that only have 3 stand offs to the frame, they will bend.
some manufacturers mount the rear stand off on the new trucks too far forward giving a long unsupported section in the back by the wheel well, so watch out for that.
Our sliders are on sale until tomorrow.
    Thanks, Steve.

Do sliders really protect against door dings? I was thinking of getting some just for that purpose and to use as steps since I don't like the look of regular steps. But it looks like some sliders may hug too closely to protect against dings.

    I be mall crawlin!

If the sliders stick out far enough to use your high lift jack on, then they will help protect against door dings from cars, taller pick ups will still be able smack your door.
We have put a few sets together that are flat instead of canted up so they work better for steps.
    Thanks, Steve.

New All-Pro Sliders (L-Bracket), I've got them bolted on and they seem really solid, see what happens this weekend

Will Def. Protect from Door Dings too (well from cars anyway)
