Just so everyone knows, this is the Manual transmission tune! It is good too!
I put all the changes from the auto into the Manual (all that I could, some don’t cross over).

Does the new tune have the new shift maps in cruise, or is that still untouched?

 

Both tunes have improved shift maps in Cruise Control. KDMAX is better and holds 5th gear on hills better than the Kruiser. But BOTH are improved over stock!

Radar cruise is untouched—there is no ability in Vftuner to change it.

 

I thought your tweaks did work for ACC?

 

I have had people with radar cruise tell me that with the tune it is better. But I don’t have a setting in Vftuner to change radar cruise settings.
This is all I got in Vftuner.

 

Wonder if you'd have the ability if you would UPDATE vF!

Thanks for coming out Dave. I'm really happy with the early results of the KDMAX 91 tune on my manual. Had a lot of hesitation/surging previously especially in 1st and 2nd and non-linear power delivery prior to the tune which has now disappeared. For a city drive with lots of lights and stop signs I usually average 13.5 mpg and I got 16 mpg on the same trip tonight. The truck is way more enjoyable to drive and if I continue to see the bump in mpg the tune will pay for itself shortly given the crazy prices of fuel these days. Definitely gets a stamp of approval from me

Maybe stupid question, but was wondering after you have a tune on your truck, if a dealer performs a TSB in the future, will it mess with the tune?

 

If it involves updating your ECU it will overwrite your tune.

 

Yes it will over write the tune.

 

How does it work in that scenario then? Do you offer a reflash at a discount for people who already paid for a tune and a TSB wiped it out? Or would you have to pay full price again? I’m wondering because sometimes a dealer might flash the ECU without asking or even telling a customer, right?
