Wow - that turned out very well!! Really warmed the place up. Love the wine glass storage (very important) and the special spot front and center for the whiskey (mission critical).

Thanks! Well as of yesterday there are only 84 built but 132 on order. They are pretty unique and definitely have a market in mind. I believe they crushed it hitting that target.

Epic build! looks like the hard work has paid off nicely. I really dig the little accent lanterns, they compliment the rustic vibe nicely. Kitchen really came together beautifully! Well done Voltron, the endless adventure possibilities make my head spin :101010:

Appreciate that man! Probably could have done with a little less obsession over the details, but very satisfied. So ready for the adventure part. Cant wait to see everyones Kimbo in the wild.

Thanks man! I did my best I think. There may be some extra holes drilled here and there but with reclaimed materials they hide pretty well.

    Killer rig Voltron.

I’ve been out testing in Mammoth for the past 3 nights and will be here another 4 nights. The Kimbo has done fantastic. The Marine Air fridge sips power. I’m using a small butane camp stove to cook. The more time I spend in the camper the more I notice how well the details were planned.

One thing I do want to redo is the Driver’s side seat cushion. It just doesn’t hold up well, the cushion material is not great and I’d also like to make a cushion (or have one made) with brown leather for some style.

Another item I might want to change/modify is the wood by the head part of the bed. I tend to move quick and without caution and the wood is going to scalp me soon. I’m trying to think of a way to pad it without taking away the aesthetic.

Finally, the door can swing wildly in the wind, so I’d like to install a latch to keep it in place when open.

The truck vault drawers are really awesome and I’m super happy with that modification.

Good to hear your kimbo being put to good use. With the wood by the bed, could you just switch sides and sleep with your feet by the wood or you prefer the nightstand aspect of that side? Also some pics of the truck vault with the kimbo in tow would be awesome whenever you get around to it

Great to hear man. If you get leather seats inside I think we are all going to be even more jealous after you got the truck vault installed. So that means yeah you better get some leather in there because that would look and function great in there.

My girlfriend is working on the seat covers and I found a brand new queen size memory foam topper on Craig’s List for $45. After the seats are done we are going to make a custom dog bed to fit the floor. We are pretty careful with that wood support too. Hanging a small lamp there to remind me it’s there but I worry about dragging over the bottom part mostly

Well finally got to test it out for reals the last few days in the desert mountain biking. On top of noticing how well it continues to function in the wild, we found our selves repeating “remember when we had to do this...” It was so great setting up and just living it. Really no issues the whole time and everything built functioned very well. Way more organized than our drive home after the pickup. We did blow an error code on the heater, overheat. Was real happy that it has these safty features. Turns out it was the front vent. I’m guessing since it’s so short that it was somehow keeping too much hot air next to the sensor. Once I popped it off it was fine and ran into the morning each day. The only other issue was the moon dust out there in the desert. Man it built up under the rug, but if this is the biggest issue I think I can manage. I blame the pups. Great trip and perfect kick off for the spring.

Awesome to hear you're getting some quality time with the big 'K' dog...LOL - I just ordered the ICECO fridge, we'll have to compare notes on how they work! The cushion in leather would be on point for sure! Love a nicely patina'd leather - got a wallet from WildeMoon and it's one of those things that gets more impressive every year. Hmmm, maybe I'll reach out to him to see if he can stitch up something to cover that strut...that would be pretty awesome!!!

You got to ride...super jealous!! Great to hear you guys are getting a chance to put these things through their paces and test out your mods. Hope to get some work done this weekend and have something interesting to post as well, not as cool as getting some riding in unfortunately but that'll be pretty soon.

Just ordered one of those too. One of the latches on our “Lifetime” cooler from Wally World broke so took it as a sign. Comes in this Thursday. No more ice detour on the way out. Our solar worked great and with a 100% charge going into the night, the diesel heater only brought it down to 93% when I checked in the morning. That cooler will barely make a dent.

We were in Fruita, CO. Great trails and free camping right by them. More trails in Grand Junction next door. Afterwards you have several wineries in Palisade. Set up at the RV Base Camp for showers with a great winery next door. Highly recommend.

Awesome - we joined Harvest Host, basically allows for overnight stays at random winery's/distillery's/etc...can't wait to try it out. Took a trip a couple years ago and rode in Steamboat Springs on my way to Denver, nice place. Fruita sounds amazebalz, heard a lot about it but have never been...yet.

Almost forgot! if you're thinking of ordering a ICECO - the discount code 'JASONOID' gets a decent discount.
