    See my build page!
I dropped off my 2006 double cab at my local dealer to get TSB - exhaust ticking/tapping noise. EG021-06 APR 06 Exhaust System - Ticking Noise Between 2,000-2,500 RPM

I was looking at the order, just for parts alone they are charging Toyota about 1700 and they provided a rental car!! I am picking the truck up tomorrow hopefully the ticking is a little better!!!

    FYI:

I took the Taco in for the "EG011-07 JUL 07 Engine Controls - Intermittent No Start Condition". All they do is reflash the ECU for this one.

Anyway, the service tech just called and said the new recall for the stuck throttle supersedes EG011-07. This is the recall where if you press the brake and the pedal is at something like 60% or more, it kills the engine. He asked if they should do the full recall and hack the gas pedal and I told him not to touch it. So, they're just going to flash the ECU with the newest recall and be done with it.

So, what I'm saying is, EG011-07 doesn't exist as a stand alone TSB any longer.

this may be good advice for your situation with the radio, but he was asking about the rear spring TSB and that is not a true statement in his case. As stated in my post above yours, and the post before his, you only need to mention you are experiencing a 'Harsh Ride'. The TSB is due to 'customer complaint' of a harsh ride.

so i took my truck in to have them take a look at the harsh ride TSB and it took them from 10-5pm to finally call me back with the answer i wanted to hear.. The service manager at larry miller toyota in peoria called me back and said that the part is on order and as soon as it comes in they'll schedule me in.. which was today the parts were overnighted and i dropped my truck back off last night and it was all done by 4pm today.... i was kinda scared that i was going to have the run arounds like ive been hearing.... now i have the 4 leaf upgrade!!! im excited..

I had this done about 6 months ago. Ever since then my alignment has been off. I have gone back 3 times. This monday will be my forth. They tell me that I am in specs and show me the print out but the truck still pulls to the left. My tires have warn uneven because of this. Sometimes it like I have to fight it to keep it straight.

I am new to this forum and have a couple questions about the harsh ride TSB on my 2008 Double Cab TRD Off Road Prerunner. My truck has the short bed with the factory tow package. 1. Are the factory springs the same length and load capacity for short and long beds? 2. Do the tow package vehicles have a higher rating than standard? I am thinking about getting the TSB done on my truck but wondering if my springs are heavier 3 leafs than standard or the 4 leafs they will replace with. I just recently bought the Toyota certified truck and is still in factory warrenty. Thanks Much!!! Mike

Mike, I have an 08 shortbed and the TSB springs were the same as my OEM but with an additional leaf. That was back in 08, so I don't know if they are putting on the same springs now as I got back in 08 or not.

As far as the difference between the long and short bed length and capacity, I'm not sure about any of that.

I hope this mumble jumble helped you some how.

many people have had the dealer put the 5100's on when they get the Spring TSB done.

I had the leaf spring TSB done at Sport City Toyota in Dallas TX. They gave me no hassle and ordered the parts when I told them about the harsh ride and bottoming out w/some furniture in the back.

Now that I have it back, it sounds like I have chains in the back of the truck when going over rough bumps. Could they have not tightened up something tight enough? Sorry, but I'm not too mechanically inclined and was to be somewhat educated if/when I take it back.

I also want to get the transmission and shakey steering wheel TBS done when I go back asking about the chain sound in the back.

chains doesn't sound good... Has anyone had issues with their heater blower motor being squeaky as heck on low and the next setting up? Mine got replaced 2 months after I got the truck, and it needs to be done again! The dealer told me they were going to order me the updated one this time. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

Updated blower motor? Sounds like a pile of bullshit to me. Search here and all over the net. There are plenty of threads on the blower motor.

We shall see, I had the thing replaced 3 months after I bought it.. and now when I am about ready for the 3rd one they tell me that I have an "updated one" thats on backorder that will fix the problem.. I would like to trust the people as much as I trust the truck, but the dealer is crooked! Except for the parts lady...mmm!!!

This might explain why my truck chirps the tires when taking off from a stop. "Like a high stall converter" I took it to my "Mom and Pop" mechanic and he changed the fluid. I knew I was in trouble when he couldn't find the dipstick or plug. After finding the plug he drained off about 3 qts. and replaced it with ??? then the sh*t started to happen. He said use "trans-ex" it will cure the problem. I think it's low in fluid. BTW now the ass end clicks on deceleration. I am hearing it in the front of the diff. Pinion possible?
I am going to do this right myself. The question is: Did he contaminate my fluid with some Chevy sh*t? I'll keep ya'll posted. If in doubt...Take it to TOYOTA. Lesson learned.

I haven't seen any mention of this, so here we go!

The rear leaf TSB as of 12/10,now covers 2011 tacoma 4x4's with access or double cabs. This was just updated through toyota.

    TSB Number 0359-10

TSBs are issued by manufacturers to help their dealers correct known issues based on customer complaints. Most TSBs are performed under warranty.

The way I understand it, a TSB is basically a recall for a known issue (determined by customer complaints), but it is not along the lines of a safety issue, which is what a mandatory recall is.
