I threw a tac weld on the end of the ball and ground it down until the fit was more snug. Worked well

That's a good idea. I might have to copy you on that one.
there's a lot of slop in that slot with the shifter.

Good lord. Removed my drop in bedliner since it was causing some nasty noise from the vibration. I think its worse now. The whole truck shakes so bad in rev or drive. Do i need to replace the bushings from the cross member? No way my motor mounts are causing this. About to retire this bitch and keep as my offroad vehicle and keep the runner for me. Wife can buy whatever she wants. Getting irritated with this damn truck

Mine vibrates from the thick mounts in drive or reverse but that’s from the poly motor mounts and tcase mounts. Been that way from day one of the crawl box

Don't know how HMF built your crossmember for the crawlbox mount, but you could just try and take out the poly crawlbox mount and see if it's better.
Did they use one of the premade ones that TG or marlin sells, or did they make one custom like what @cbechtold did?

Put it in neutral at the stop lights or while sitting. Vibration goes away

Why not extend a 3/8" base plate to the crawlbox and buy a factory rf1a mount. That will solve your vib issue.

I mean kinda not really. Don't blame ya.
I don't know what the front-side of that whole crossmember looks like and how it actually mounts to the crawlbox. As far as I can tell the only bushings I see are the outboard ones that mount the member to the frame.

You could probably get some rubber sleeve bushings to replace those ones with, but not sure much that would make a difference with how those bushings & mount are designed.

How would that solve the issue? You know my noobness lol . is that dropping some pretty coin? :spending:

That would probably be my easiest route. I need to call HMF and find out for sure what they used

Your vibration is caused by the poly designed mount use between the tcase and frames on your truck. If you eliminate the HMF designed tcase mount and run a factory rf1a mount (not MC or TG), you'll eliminate the vibration. You'll have to extend a 3/8" flat plate from the factory crossmember to the crawl box tho.

I'm running a modified piece from FROR with the factory mount at the front and have no vibration. But eventually I will eliminate the front crossmember and built a skid with the rf1a mount to support the weight. Hopefully there will be no vibration when that's done.
