I suspect the cool blue boost 100/90w is based on the 100/90w SuperBright bulb platform. So in that specific case I’d just compare the output between the two rather than trying to strip a coating. But yeah, still not a great use of time. I need to get onto the 4Runner headlight testing project!

Didn't take a pic, but when swapping in one of my Osram "hypers" this afternoon, I managed to somehow fit the metal base of the bulb all the way through the hole into the headlight. If nit for the bulb shield it would have dropped all the way into the headlamp and I would have been scratching my head about what to do, lmao. Took 2 seconds to slip in and 20 minutes of rolling, twisting, pivoting and swearing to get it back out of the headlamp. And ground out the hole in the plastic of the reflector bowl with the base, leaving a bunch of fine plastic shavings floating around in there. Fun stuff.

Swapped out the set of philips xtremevision +130's I swapped in a month or so ago, just to get rid of the blue banding on the highbeam filament.

    Done!!

I have had the headlight services harness installed for a few months with some Hella 100/80's that were less than impressive with 15 year old badly faded headlights. Finally installed the new Toyota headlight units with the Phillips +200's and WOW hardly covers it. Most of my night driving is around town so I was looking for the most low beam increase and +200's seem to do it. With the new headlights this combo is really bright/white to me and the cutoff is clear and distinct, I could never make out a cutoff before.

Worth every penny for the total upgrade. Thanks CNB80!

I know you didn't like the Hella high wattage bulbs, but wait until you try the high wattage bulbs @crashnburn80 recommends. They'll make your +200's seem like candles.

OK, tried the $14 EVO formance spectras, 75/65w. I wasn't expecting much, but got even less. About the bluest I've seen but not worth a sheet for light. Why didn't ya'll tell me about the little spring clip, that holds the bulb in falls off, that was a real pain, I finally got it back on, but never figured out what was supposed to hold it in. I've ordered one of those harnesses from Headlight Services, only to find them backordered, oh well maybe soon. Now back to the colors, still confused just looked at a 100/55w & it said ultra white color temp 5000 to 6000K, my 6000K is really blue. Guess I should look for "clear". It seems Osram has no 100/55. Do ya'll think the Osram super bright 100/80 may be what should suit me? Not looking for brighter Lo, but if it won't blind oncoming traffic, I guess it won't hurt. Would hate to get a lesser mentioned name brand 100/55 & be disappointed.

Going back to the first few pages of this thread will lead you to the answer to your question:

    Other bulbs
I often get asked for other bulb recommendations, here is documented measured output data:

I's looking at the Osram 100/80, only see them in Original & Super bright. The Osram 100/90 seems to come in 4 styles Super Brite, Original, All Season & Super Rally, Thinking the "Super Bright", in either wattage, should be the brightest. I'm very conscious of blinding oncoming traffic, I wish they made a Super Bright in a 100/55 or 60. My thoughts, till someone points somewhere else is the Osram Super Bright 100/80 & hope for the best. Thanks to all ya'll.

Properly aimed, the Osram 100/90's won't blind oncoming traffic.

So I've had the upgraded harness and the 80/85w all seasons for a few years now and I just put my last bulb in.... are there any good alternatives similar in output to these, or is my best bet the osram 100/90w bulbs? Looking for something thats got a better low beam over high beam, but I'd prefer to stay as close to what I have now or better if possible. Thanks for the help.

The IPF Fatboys are tested as slightly better low beam and stock output high beam. See output charts in the original post. They cost a ridiculous premium though. Aside from them the Osram Superbrights are the next best option. Unfortunately there are no longer any 85/80w hyper based bulbs, all season or standard.

Has anyone else had a problem with the headlight services sight trying to buy the harness? The site won’t allow me to add to cart. Kinda odd.

I get confused easily, but this site was worse than normal for me. I finally figured it out & got my harness ordered, or thought I did, but there was no receipt or anything thing telling if the order went thru or not. I did get a receipt from Paypal showing I had made a payment to them. I finally got an email out to them, then next day received a response saying they did get my order but the harness I had ordered was back ordered. Four days later another email, from Paypal (not Headlight services) saying my package has been shipped, nothing about what I had ordered, just says I should have it by 4/5/21. Hoping maybe all is good.

So just a FYI. When ordering the 05-11 TSB headlights from the stealership. They suck right now. This order was placed 2/1/21.

The passenger side was sent in stock in 2-3 weeks. No problem. The drivers side was on back order for a month and a half. When I got it, it was so spider cracked it look frosted and the clear coat was peeling off. So they had to reorder it. 3 weeks later, many ETAs of tomorrow promises later. Still don’t have it.

Original promise of 4/5 is now their current update after “rushing”.

So just a heads up. Right now the drivers side is on mad back order around the nation with no guarantee of product quality lol

The harness and lights are all ready to go! Let’s party already!!!
