maxing out the front and rear is why you have issues.
I noticed that too when i tried to do that.
fronts eccentrics are set about 3 lines inboards of "center", rear eccentrics are maxed outboards.
this allows for pushing the tires as far forwards as possible while not narrowing the track width, which would cause you to bring the UBJ too far inboards, which cause the tire to UCA rub issue.
narrower track also gets your tire closer to the frame too.
I have the SPCs set in the "E" setting, with the slot measurements of the adjustment gap on the outboards end being LH/RH of .571" /.308"
    drives and tracks beautifully.

I follow you and appreciate you sharing your settings with me (the world). I will have to start the experimenting with mine again. Very glad to know it is possible since we sound to have the exact set up, and I so hated to put these spacers on... I have to assume you have a decently aggressive cab mount chop and trimming of plastics/liner/etc.?

cab mount chopped and pinch flattened, inner fender was heat gunned and pressed, had to trim the bottom of the fender and flare near the body mount but havent needed to anywhere else.
as of right now i only have street miles, no offroading yet while I break in the new gears, but I cycled the suspension at all steering angles without the shock and cleared so i have high hopes of no rub offroad too

Thanks man. You cut looks maybe a bit less aggressive than mine. So, that give me more hope to be able to dial mine it without spacers. Can you explain to me more specifically where the measurements you made are? Is this as in where your camber is sitting?

i would not classify something as the "perfect" size if modifications are necessary to get them to fit; just saying. to each his own, looks good with a lift, just never been a fan of 17's on anything less than 35's.

depends on your reading level; "perfect" suggests the tire actually fits the truck. o_O and there is a reason 17" come stock on 4runners and the tacos get the 16", and it's not by accident. just sayin.

I was more poking fun at; poking fun at the thread title, no harm intended lol

The title could have said "worst tire size" and id still be here, asking questions and reading opinions

The word "perfect", as an adjective is subjective. Reading level is irrelevant so long as you can sownd it owt. It suggests nothing. However it does represent an opinion. One which you don't share, but that's ok. It's 2021, and you can identify any way you want. Although, if you're going to identify as a linguist and put on the internet big boy pants, remember that the zipper goes in the front, bud. As @recess pointed out.

Go back to the 265/75R16 threads. :D

Now everyone else, back to our glorious and perfect size.

blah blah blah... one need not be a linguist to know the difference between perfect size and a tire that does not even fit. for a forum that prides itself on being informative, it's actually quite misleading; but again, just saying... :bananadance:

Maybe we should revise the title of this thread to: "285/75/17... most proportional tire size (with a 3" lift) to the 3rd gen Tacoma" haha!

Shouldn't we all go to 37s anyways?

Why are we even considering these tiny tyres

I know that 35's are the new 33's lol!

At 37's, imagine all the original components that would need to be upgraded, ouch!
