tire light

The tire light with the exclamation mark on my dash came on. I looked at my tires and they look fine..any ideas? Should I bring it into the dealer

 

My light has been on the last 3000 miles. Nothing to worry about IMO.

 

My taco does it when ever the outside temp drops hardcore in the mornings... After driving for a bit it will usually go away.

 

Thats why my dad pays for AAA.

If you drove through some deep water recently you could of fried a sensor. The dealership can replace them if you have a warranty.

 

Explain, please, how driving through deep water could have "fried a sensor" that is sealed within the tire?

How much psi should be in the tires?
does it turn off by itself?

 

I think my PSI was like 32 or so when I checked them about two weeks ago. Does that sound about right?

 

that sounds right i run 30 in the front and 35 in the rear. my other half has an 06 tundra running the same pressure, the light comes on mostly when cold or the spare is low (don't know why)

 

i inflated the tire back to 30psi...is the light suppose to reset itself?

 

There's a reset button below the steering wheel.

 

I believe the tire pressure monitor system will have to be re set, your manual tells you how, I believe there is a button under the dash (driver's side) that you press and hold to reset. Also if you check the drivers side door jamb you will find the recommended pressure.

 

Not sure but water has destroyed about three of mine. as soon as i would go through water about half way up my tire the light would go on. went to the dealer they said i had a bad sensor..each time

 

Did they find water in the tire? Bad bead?

If so your tires should get low fairly often.

 

No, they didn't say there was any sign of water damage and my tires hold pressure fine. did it with my old tires and new. I didn't know the sensor was inside. I know the TPMS is inside, i always figured there was another sensor of some kind more exposed

 

Fix a flat...what do you take me for a barbarian! idk what happened, continuing problem though

 

found the culprit...nail in the sidewall
